Liaoning Provincial Library has made great progress since its establishment 50 years ago, with nearly 4 million ancient and modern books (pieces) and 10 languages, and established literature exchange relations with libraries in 17 countries and regions. Among the 560,000 ancient books, there are about 6.5438+0.2 million rare books, including nearly 100 Song and Yuan editions. In addition, it also has a rich collection of northeast local documents and documents about Manchu, Manchu and Puppet Manchu.
Liaotu is the earliest pioneer of the service mode of book mobile station. In the early days of the founding of New China, its predecessor, Northeast Library, borrowed from the automobile library of the former Soviet Union and the existing mobile stacks in China, established the earliest book mobile station, and actively delivered books to the masses. During the period of 1950, Northeast Library set up book mobile stations in factories, construction sites, universities, institutions and troops. During the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, seven book mobile stations were established in the Korean battlefield. 1988, Liaotu resumed the book mobile station that had been interrupted for 30 years. That year, Shenyang established five mobile stations for troops. Over the years, they have combined the book mobile station with the position service of the library to serve the readers. Up to now, they have jointly set up more than 100 book mobile stations with troops, vocational schools, prisons and residents' communities. According to Wang, director of the Liaoning Provincial Library, in order to do a good job in the book mobile station, Liaotu is equipped with "five specialties"-specialized institutions, special personnel in charge, special car service, special funds for book purchase and special library allocation, which makes the book mobile station work more mature and perfect.
Since 20 10, Liaotu has also creatively established library branches at the grassroots level or outside the system, such as the branch of the activity center for veteran cadres, the building branch of Shenyang Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture, and the branch of the Young Cadre College. In 2000, based on the principle of "complementary advantages and optimized combination", Liaoning Provincial Library Agricultural Branch was established on the basis of Shenyang Dongling District Library. This is the first branch of the National Public Library to break the administrative affiliation. It has changed the past "small but comprehensive" mode of running the library and formed a new pattern of the main and branch libraries. The establishment of the branch library is not only a breakthrough in the traditional library construction mode, but also a brand-new attempt in the new library construction direction and system.
