Introduction of agate pattern
Patterned agate The so-called patterned agate is an aphanitic timely mineral with natural texture, bedding, color and pattern. The development of ornamental stones in China can be summarized in these words: it originated in the pre-Qin period, formed in the Wei and Jin Dynasties, matured in the Tang and Song Dynasties, perfected in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and flourished in the contemporary era. In the early days of reform and opening up, when the research on ornamental stones was just starting, several experts in geology and mineral resources compiled books on ornamental stones and put forward the classification and names of stone species. Compared with the textbook compiled by China Stone Association, the content is basically the same. It's just that the texture stone in the classification has been changed to the pattern stone. Taking textures and patterns as an example, some experts believe that the textures, bedding, cleavage and metal ion-impregnated colors in agate can not cover up the independent patterns in agate. Many patterns are composed of chlorite, mica and some unknown substances, so they should be named "patterned agate". In the upstream and downstream links of agate processing and sales in Fuxin, Liaoning, agate collectors call "patterned agate" "pictograph". Now we know that "pictograph" is "patterned agate", which has been deeply rooted in the agate world. Therefore, the name of "patterned agate" should eventually be named "pictographic agate", which is more suitable and easier for people in the industry and collectors to understand. Pictographic agate The so-called pictographic agate is the general name of agate collections such as natural agate patterns, agate painted stones, pictographic flakes, patterned agates, aquatic agates, marine chalcedony (with patterns and grass flowers), scenic agates, patterned agates and shadow agates.
