Sun exposure method: books exposed to the sun for more than 8 hours can kill most microorganisms and most book moths at the same time. In the process of exposure, attention should be paid to frequent flipping.
Microwave disinfection method: a small number of books can be disinfected by household microwave oven. Wrap the schoolbag with a damp cloth and put it in a microwave oven with a power of 650W for 5- 10 minutes.
Ozone disinfection method: use household ozone disinfection cabinet for disinfection, put the books in the disinfection cabinet and turn on the power for more than 1 hour.
Ultraviolet disinfection method: disinfect with portable high-efficiency ultraviolet lamp, irradiate at close range, turn each page over, and irradiate for more than 30 seconds per unit area.
Chemical disinfectant fumigation disinfection method: for the disinfection of a large number of books, this method can be used. If the disinfectant is ethylene oxide, books and documents can be put into nylon bags, polyethylene plastic bags (be careful not to break them) or closed containers. The operation can be carried out according to the disinfection method of clothes. The dosage is more than 2 grams per liter of volume, but not too much. Leave it at room temperature (20 degrees Celsius) for about 20 hours. Because epoxy dioxane has the characteristics of broad bactericidal spectrum and strong permeability, it is very suitable to choose this disinfectant, but attention should be paid to safety when using it. Pay attention to fire prevention and riot prevention.
If there are hard and well-sealed containers at home, they can also be fumigated with formaldehyde (formalin). Pour formaldehyde into a porcelain bowl, put it at the bottom of the container, and put books on the top of the container. Don't tie the book too tightly, so formaldehyde will penetrate into the book. The dosage is per liter volume 10 ml formaldehyde. After the container was sealed, it was left at room temperature (about 20 degrees Celsius) for 24 hours. If conditions permit, formaldehyde can also be heated to enhance the effect. After disinfection, the secretary should be taken out and blown in the wind to remove residual formaldehyde. Formaldehyde is corrosive and toxic, and has a strong pungent smell. It must be used safely, and the residual formaldehyde must be completely removed.
