Who knows where the new library in Nanjing is?

Nanjing Library is a public library in Jiangsu Province, a national first-class library and a document information resource center in Jiangsu Province. The predecessor of Nanjing Library can be traced back to Jiangnan Library founded by 1907. Nanjing Library has more than 7 million volumes (pieces) of various documents, ranking third in the country, second only to the National Library and the Shanghai Library.

The headquarters of Nanjing Library is located at 66 Chengxian Street, Nanjing.

The new Nanjing Library is located in the northeast of Daxing Palace in Nanjing, bordering on the urban landscape main road of Zhongshan East Road in the south, the cultural street of Changjiang Road in the north, Taiping North Road in the west and the newly-built citizen square in the east. The new Nanjing Library with an investment of 400 million yuan has basically taken shape. The main structure of Nantu has been completed a few days ago and the project will be completed and delivered in May next year. After half a year's layout, the new Nantu Library with a collection of120,000 volumes will be officially opened to the public at the end of next year.

The new building is concave and close to the subway.

According to Ma Ning, secretary of Nantu Party Committee, the New Nantu Museum is located in the northeast of Nanjing Daxing Palace, adjacent to the urban landscape main road of Zhongshan East Road in the south, the cultural street of Changjiang Road in the north, Taiping North Road in the west and the newly-built citizen square in the east. The subway station of the upcoming Metro Line 2 is close to the southwest corner of the New Nantu Museum, and the traffic is particularly convenient. The new building covers an area of 25,200 square meters, divided into two floors underground and nine floors above ground, with a total design height of 4 1. 1m and a total construction area of 77,860 square meters. If you look down from the air, the new South Library is concave, which is the symbolic "hollow arc" module design of South Library. The "concave" section gradually expands from bottom to top, which is very spectacular. The facade of the roof and surrounding decoration is mainly made of steel structure and aluminum plate, and the "exterior decoration" is composed of pale yellow stone, pale white aluminum plate and sapphire green glass curtain wall, which makes the new museum fully display the elegant atmosphere of humanity in the modern and fashionable appearance.

Step on the ruins of the Six Dynasties

The functional layout of the new Nantu Museum is also unique, because the ruins of Miyagi in the Six Dynasties are preserved at the foot of modern buildings. The basement of the new building is a motor vehicle parking lot and rooms for water, electricity, heating and other equipment. The motor vehicle parking space is 1 12. The mezzanine is a bicycle garage for readers and staff, and also stores some books with low frequency of use, with 3,090 bicycle parking spaces. The ground is the first floor, mainly for the exhibition center, academic lecture hall, multi-function hall, exhibition hall and so on. During the excavation of Nantu, precious cultural relics such as Imperial Road, Yamen and Imperial Well in the Six Dynasties were unearthed. The Daxing Palace area where the new museum is located was identified by archaeologists as the original site of the historic site in the southeast corner of Miyagi in the Six Dynasties. In order to keep this rare "treasure", Nantu built a 300-square-meter-thick glass floor on the site as a rest room for readers, displaying brick roads, ancient wells and other cultural relics as they are, presenting an intuitive and vivid Miyagi for readers, and organically integrating the "modern steel structure" and "wall charm" of Nantu New Museum. This is Nantu's "unique skill" and unique in the country.

Free computers can search all information.

The new library integrates the functions of book exhibition, borrowing, training, electronic reading, personal audio-visual and so on. And broke the original management mode and adopted the integrated operation mode of collection, borrowing and reading, just like in a supermarket, as long as you see the right book, you can immediately deal with it through an intelligent system. The library has 3,000 reading seats, and a children's reading room and a reading room for the blind have been set up for the first time on the second floor. The 25th floor is a function expansion area, which uses large space for open-shelf borrowing, with strong flexibility and great changes. The new museum is equipped with a multi-function hall, an academic lecture hall for more than 400 people, an exhibition hall of nearly 1,000 square meters, a music appreciation room and a personal audio-visual room. There are two large-scale "electronic reading rooms" on the fifth floor, equipped with more than 600 computers for readers to consult, and there are 4,000 information points connecting all libraries in the province. Readers can copy the required materials as long as they bring their laptops. It is worth mentioning that readers can access the local area network for free, and the internet access fee is not more expensive than that of internet cafes.

Eat, buy and read "one card"

Coming to New Nantu is not only about borrowing books to check information, but also about eating and shopping. There is a restaurant in the south of the first floor, with an area of 1400 square meters, and there are shops for shopping. However, Secretary Nantuma has repeatedly stressed that the goods sold in shops must be linked to culture, highlighting culture and taste. In addition, the library will adopt intelligent IC card system internally and cooperate with banks conditionally to form a "one card" model. In the future, readers can borrow books, eat and shop with this card. This "all-in-one card" library card is only slightly more expensive than a plastic card library card, 25 yuan.

It is estimated that the number of readers will exceed10 million in 2008.

In May next year, the New Nantu Library will be officially completed and put into use. After the new library is completed, the old Nantu Library, the ancient books library and the special collection library, which were originally located in Chengxian Street, Liangqingshan and Longpanli, will be merged into one place, with a designed collection of 6.5438+0.2 million volumes. It is the third largest public library in China and the fourth largest public library in Asia after the National Library and Shanghai Library. As the New Nantu Museum is located in the prime location of Daxing Palace, the main urban area is relatively mature, with more than 10 bus stops around the new museum, and the planned exit of Metro Line 2 is on the side of the new museum. It is estimated that the daily passenger flow will be nearly 10,000 people after the opening of the New Nantu Museum in the future.

Want to change its name to Jiangsu Provincial Library

It is understood that Nanjing Library is a public library in Jiangsu Province, a national first-class library, and the only library named after a city in China. But many people who don't know the situation think that Nanjing Library is a municipal library in Nanjing. When Nantu went abroad for various exchanges or cultural activities, international friends also thought that Nantu was only a municipal library, which limited its development to some extent. For example, the former Beijing Library was the National Library, but many people originally thought it was a municipal library, and later Beitu was renamed the National Library. The new South Map will also follow the path of North Map and be renamed Jiangsu Provincial Library or Provincial Library. At present, Nantu is preparing to declare its name change to the government, and whether it is renamed is still inconclusive.
