The Vietnamese abolished Chinese characters just after the founding of the People's Republic of China. Why did you copy the place names from China?

Because many place names in Vietnam were directly given to this area by people who met the dynasty during China's rule, it is said that because names have become a habit, although Chinese characters were later abolished, the original place names were still preserved, and Vietnam was a vassal country of China in ancient times, and China has a deep civilization. Deep down, the Vietnamese feel that our Chinese civilization is excellent. Therefore, many place names still retain their original names, and Vietnamese people have always been influenced by our Chinese civilization, so they have formed a habit and are unwilling to change what was formed at the beginning of the founding of the People's Republic.

We found that many things in our country were imitated by Vietnam. There are many classic works in Vietnam, which were written in Chinese at that time, and the imperial edicts in Vietnamese museums were also written in Chinese, but later, when Vietnam was founded, Chinese characters were explicitly abolished. In fact, we also understand this practice of the Vietnamese. After all, after the founding of the People's Republic of China, we don't want to use other countries' scripts, so we have to start our own. Moreover, Vietnam was still ruled by French colonists at that time. At that time, Vietnamese Chinese characters were used less and Latin letters were used more, so it was helpless to abolish Chinese characters.

However, Vietnam has not abandoned everything about Chinese characters because of the abolition of Chinese characters. Some photos of place names are named after Chinese characters in China. Vietnam has experienced a long period of development since ancient times, and its cultural habits are still biased towards Chinese characters. Moreover, these place names are all left over from ancient times. If we change them casually, we may be suspected of changing the history of our country.

It is understandable for a country to abolish the original Chinese characters, and it is also understandable to use Chinese names after the abolition of Chinese characters, because our country's culture is indeed profound.
