The first thing that catches your eye is a bronze square statue. "Zun" is a container for wine, and there are also several square statues. The statue of Siyang Square is one of them. I took a closer look and found that the detailed patterns were evenly distributed on the statue of Siyang Square. I looked carefully and found that there were birds, phoenixes, dragons and other animals in it. They are lifelike, exquisitely carved and lifelike. But perhaps the most striking thing is four down-to-earth sheep. They have curved horns, and these majesty are revealed in silence. The sheep's chest and legs are carefully carved with patterns, and the long bird watching on the front legs is eager to fly, as if telling the story of the Four Sheep Fang Zun. What is even more amazing is that around the square statue, there are four far-opposite faucets, which are intertwined with each other. Ingenious, just right for the four sheep Fang Zun add a lot of color. The statue of Fang Zun in Siyang is simple and beautiful, magnificent and quiet in motion. Using line carving and relief techniques, the plane image is organically combined with three-dimensional relief, utensils and animal modeling. Generally speaking, it is a one-stop process, ingenious and unique, showing a superb casting level.
The most popular symbolic meaning of sheep folk culture is "auspiciousness". Sheep have been associated with auspiciousness since at least the Han Dynasty. In the Han Dynasty, the image of sheep was often seen in inscriptions such as tile eaves and bronze mirrors, and sheep was also used to express the theme of "Three Yang Kai Tai, Nine Yang Kaitai". In ancient times, sheep was second only to cattle. Siyangfang Zun added a little flavor to himself with four down-to-earth goats and exquisite patterns.
1936, when the Chiang brothers were ploughing the fields, they discovered Siyang Fangzun and then transferred it to an antique dealer in Changsha. After several twists and turns, the Four Sheep Fang Zun returned to the state. 1938, War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression broke out, and the four sheep statues kept in the museum were almost destroyed by the war.
Since 1930s, a large number of bronzes have been unearthed in Ningxiang, Hunan Province, and the unearthed bronzes are called "Ningxiang Bronzes Group". Siyang Fangzun is the representative of "Ningxiang Bronze Group" and the earliest bronze unearthed in Ningxiang.
When I saw the statue of Four Sheep, I seemed to touch the long culture of the Chinese nation for millions of years and deeply realized the wisdom of our ancestors. Siyang Square is not only a milestone of ancient culture and technology, but also a symbol of Chinese culture. When I heard the legendary experience of the Four Sheep Fang Zun for nearly a hundred years, I couldn't help feeling sorry for the Four Sheep Fang Zun. The smoke of war almost destroyed the civilization of our ancestors. At that time, people didn't understand the preciousness of the Four Sheep Fang Zun. After many twists and turns, Siyang Fangzun finally returned to his native land after 50 years' absence. So we should love, protect and feel its cultural atmosphere.
The Four Sheep Fang Zun is the glory created by a generation of culture, and it has also brought some thoughts to future generations ... So I can't describe my inner excitement in words in the face of this cultural relic. The statue of Four Sheep Square deserves to be my favorite cultural relic.
