Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, is a national "double-class" university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and Jiangsu Province, and a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the People's Government of Jiangsu Province and state administration of traditional chinese medicine.
Founded in 1954, the school is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning of traditional Chinese medicine in China, which has gone through such historical periods as Jiangsu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Jiangsu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Nanjing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Jiangsu New Medical College and Nanjing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (after the establishment was restored). 1995, renamed Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine.
