Extended data:

"Kyushu" is another name of China, also known as Han, Middle Earth, Shenzhou and Twelve States. It was first recorded in the ancient book Shangshu Gong Yu in the pre-Qin period, and it is a national regional concept of Han ancestors in China since ancient times.

During the Warring States Period, Kyushu became the representative name of China in ancient times, and in the Jin Dynasty, Kyushu became the representative name of the Han nationality area, which was called "Kyushu in Han Dynasty" in history. Kyushu is basically Jizhou, Yanzhou, Qingzhou, Xuzhou, Yangzhou, Jingzhou, Liangzhou, Yongzhou and Yuzhou recorded in Shangshu Gong Yu, which is the Kyushu divided by Dayu.

However, different ancient books record the name Kyushu differently. For example, Kyushu recorded in Erya Dish is Jizhou, Yanzhou, Youzhou, Xuzhou, Yangzhou, Jingzhou, Yingzhou, Yongzhou and Yuzhou, while Qingzhou and Liangzhou in Shangshu Gong Yu are replaced by Youzhou and Yingzhou. In Lizhou Zhifang, Xuzhou and Liangzhou were replaced by Youzhou and Bingzhou.

Liangzhou was replaced by Youzhou in Lv's Spring and Autumn Annals. Although different books have different records, it is also to reflect people's regional concepts at that time. Shangshu embodies the regional concept of Xia people, Erya embodies the regional concept of Shang people, Zhou Li embodies the regional concept of Western Zhou people, and Lv Chunqiu embodies the regional concept of Spring and Autumn and Warring States people.

At first, Dayu divided the world into Kyushu because in ancient times, people lived on rivers, and the four ancient civilizations all originated in river basins. People engaged in agricultural production are highly dependent on rivers. Of course, everything has two sides. People are helped by rivers and threatened by floods. When Dayu was in charge of water conservancy, China was still in the tribal alliance system, so Dayu divided the world into Kyushu for better overall management.
