Engraving printing appeared in the Tang Dynasty, with a history of 1000 years.
After the emergence of block printing, books in great demand, such as the Four Books and Five Classics, are mainly printed in various versions.
Paper accounts for 800 and ink accounts for 1000. It means that paper books can be preserved for about 800 years, so the handwritten books before block printing are basically naturally damaged.
So there won't be a lot of handwritten versions left.
