The novel tells the story of the tenacious struggle and beautiful love of a small and weak nation in the tone of the 90-year-old Ewenki last chief woman. The language of the novel is exquisite, and a group of little-known Ewenki people are written with simple beauty.
On the right bank of the Ergon River on the Sino-Russian border, there lived an Ewenki nationality who migrated from Lake Baikal hundreds of years ago and lived alone with reindeer. They believe in shamans and move and hunt reindeer because they like food. While enjoying the gifts from nature, they also lead a hard life with a small population.
They seek reproduction under the attack of cold, wild animals and plague. They have great love, great pain, desperate struggle in the face of fate, and helplessness in watching the whole nation decline.
However, generation after generation of love and hate, generation after generation of unique folk customs, generation after generation of life and death legends, showing the tenacious vitality and indomitable national spirit of small and weak ethnic groups.
production process
When the media reported that the Olu Ewenki settled down the mountain, many people flocked to genhe city, Inner Mongolia to witness this so-called great moment in the process of human civilization, but Chi Zijian's heart was filled with lingering melancholy and desolation.
At this time, she saw an article in the newspaper, which described the fate of Ewenki painter Liu Ba, and wrote the story of how she walked out of the forest with her own talent, and finally quit her job with fatigue, returned to the forest, and died in the river in confusion. After reading this article, I was inspired. Chi Zijian decided to write the history of this nation.
In August, 2004, Chi Zijian went to genhe city, found the hunting spot on the mountain by tracking the reindeer, and found the prototype of the female chief. She went to visit Liu Ba's mother, listened to their inner pain and sadness, and listened to their singing.
Chi Zijian spent three months reading the research materials on the history and customs of Ewenki nationality and took tens of thousands of words of notes. In 2005, Chi Zijian started writing the novel The Right Bank of Ergon in his hometown.
