Training objectives
China minority language and literature major (Mongolian language and literature direction) adheres to the guidance of Marxism and trains students with firm and correct political direction, solid professional foundation and strong practical and innovative ability; Have an international vision and development potential, and systematically master the basic theories and knowledge of China language and literature disciplines and related minority language and literature majors; It has strong literary perception, reading ability of literary classics, aesthetic evaluation ability and the ability to skillfully use national lingua franca and minority languages for written and oral expression. After graduation, students can engage in teaching, scientific research, translation, administration, press and publication in the field of minority languages and literature on the basis of professional knowledge, with modern information technology and foreign language ability as the wings.
Cultivate characteristics
Mongolian Language and Literature is one of the earliest majors in China. It occupies a leading position in the fields of Mongolian literature, Mongolian literary theory, Mongolian folk literature, modern Mongolian and its dialects, and medieval Mongolian, and enjoys a considerable reputation.
Students in this major are free of tuition. Excellent students can enter the "China Minority Language and Literature Professional Base Class" from the second grade and enjoy the "base class" treatment. Among them, the first 45% can be recommended to study for a master's degree without examination.
The main required courses are: Modern Chinese, Introduction to Linguistics, Introduction to Literature, Introduction to China Minority Languages, Introduction to China Minority Languages, General Introduction to Minority Languages (Mongolian), History of China Minority Classical Literature (Mongolian), Introduction to China Minority Language Translation Classics (Mongolian), Introduction to China Minority Folk Literature (Mongolian) and so on.
The main elective courses are: Mongolian in the Middle Ages, Mongolian literature, Mongolian in Creaer, Mongolian dialect, Mongolian script, a brief history of Mongolia, Mongolian script history, Mongolian calligraphy, an introduction to comparative literature, Mongolian folk culture, Mongolian information processing, college English and basic Japanese.
Employment and further study prospects
The cultivation of talents in this major adapts to the new situation of international and domestic economic and cultural development, with a wide range of employment and a large space for further study. After four years' study, I can be competent in the teaching and scientific research of Mongolian language and literature, and engage in editing, journalists, literature archives and publicity, secretarial work, translation and management related to this major in party and government organs, cultural news departments, enterprises and institutions. In recent years, the one-time employment rate is above 94%.
In recent years, the main destinations of graduates are: Mongolian language work units in Beijing, such as radio stations, publishing houses, translation centers, People's Daily Online, etc. Continue to study for graduate students in China; Return to Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Qinghai, Gansu and Northeast China for employment; Sent to Mongolia, Japan, Hungary, Czech Republic, Germany, the United States and other foreign high-level universities for further study.
Professional courses use Mongolian as the teaching language, and basic courses and other general courses use the national lingua franca.
Application conditions This major recruits candidates who answer Mongolian in arts and sciences, and their Mongolian scores in the college entrance examination are above good. The academic system lasts for 4 years, and qualified graduates are awarded a bachelor of arts degree.
