This poem entitled "To Ceng Zhi" was written by Tao Zhu on a small piece of paper when he was confined in the small courtyard of the word gallery, in order to thank him for his revolutionary affection in adversity. After the poem was written, Ceng Zhi rolled it up, wrapped it in plastic paper and sewed it tightly in cotton-padded clothes. After the Gang of Four was smashed, Ceng Zhi took this poem out of his cotton-padded jacket and made it public.
