Bingheng Zhao (1924.10.22-1997.11.21) was born in Tianjin. He is a member of China Calligraphers Association, honorary director of Tianjin Branch of Calligraphers Association, artistic consultant of painting and calligraphy research society for the elderly, and vice president of Heping and Nankai District Painting and calligraphy research society. Mr. Zhao Banzhi, a former employee of Xinhua Bookstore, once worked in art decoration. He has a profound knowledge of regular script. With Ou Yan as the backbone, he dabbled in the North Monument and was unique. After middle age, he studied official script and broke through the fixed pattern. After 60, he became a unique calligrapher. The calligraphy art of Zhao Banzhi's ci has been recognized by many calligraphers because of its beautiful shape, "vivid and picturesque". Mr Wu Yuru once wrote an inscription for his calligraphy: "A man of insight can learn from him". His works have participated in the second national exhibition of calligraphy and seal cutting, and have been exhibited in Japan, East Germany, Poland and other countries. The word "Gui Faxiang" in 18th Street Twist was written by Zhao Banzhi.
