They were carved in memory of Emperor Taizong's steeds and are now hidden in Xi 'an.

As we all know, I used to be a big country of cultural relics, but due to the rule of grave robbers and colonies, many historical relics were sold abroad and have not returned to the motherland so far. Apart from the most famous bronze statues of the zodiac, these are stone carvings, two of which were stolen and have been lost overseas.

This is the Six Horses Stone Carving in Zhaoling in Tang Dynasty, and it is the six large relief stone carvings erected in Zhaoling in the tenth year of Zhenguan of Emperor Taizong. These six fine horses have beautiful shapes, smooth carving lines and fine and round knives, which are precious ancient stone carving art treasures.

Unfortunately, in 19 14, two stone carvings were stolen, changed hands with cultural relics dealers, and finally lost overseas. Yu Youren, a great calligrapher, once wrote a poem: "A stone horse loses its group and crosses the sea." Losing the second army has always been a pain in the hearts of Chinese people. At present, only four pieces are on display in Xi 'an Beilin Museum.

The Liu Jun stone carvings in Zhaoling in Tang Dynasty were carved to commemorate the six war horses that fought side by side with Emperor Taizong on the battlefield. In the upper corner of each screen, there is an inscription by Emperor Ou Yangxun Taizong of Shu, but now it no longer exists.

"Six Horses in Zhaoling" is a group of cultural relics with historical, archaeological, artistic appreciation and social value. It is the historical product and witness of the heyday of China feudal society, and it is a material carrier with distinctive characteristics of the times and full of high-spirited spirit of the times.

The six horses in Zhaoling have different postures, different expressions, simple and powerful lines and vivid shapes. Works of art like this are not only successful in modeling and exquisite in carving skills, but also contain rich historical stories and show the achievements of ancient carving art in China. They are extremely precious cultural relics.
