Chaozhou baxian memorial hall

Chaozhou Baxian Temple is located in the north of Fengnei Reservoir at the south foot of Huang Qishan, Jieyang City. It is to commemorate the eight sages of Zhao De, Xu Shen, Wu Fugu, Xun Lin, Lv Dong, Liu Yun, Zhang Kui and Wang Dabao who appeared in Chaoshan area in Tang and Song Dynasties (known as the "first eight sages" in history, and the "last eight sages" were Lin Daqin, Weng Wanda, Xiao Duanmeng and He in Ming Dynasty. The Eight Immortals Memorial Hall is designed in the style of the Song Dynasty. It is simple and elegant, solemn and solemn. It contains ten poems, including the statue seat of eight sages and Lin Daqin, a top scholar in Ming Dynasty, which records the noble character and scholarship of eight sages.

The Eight Immortals Memorial Hall is built by the mountains and rivers. It consists of the main gate archway, Chongxian Square, Hongde Pavilion, Baxian Pavilion and Li Wentang. On the mountain road, you can see the archway of the Eight Immortals Pavilion, on which there are several gold-lettered "Chaozhou Eight Immortals Memorial Hall" inscribed by Professor Tsung i Jao, a scholar of Chaoshan generation.

The couplets on both sides read: "Levin Mountain shows talent, and Zou Lufeng is rich along the coast", which is the aspiration of millions of hipsters. After the archway and Chongxian Square, it is the "Hongde Pavilion", which is the tomb of Mrs. Lu. Its tomb has been renovated, with portraits of the sage Lu Dong and their two wives, next to poems written by calligrapher Lu Guicheng, and many couplets praising the sage are carved on the pillars on both sides. There is no superstition and vulgarity of fireworks in ordinary tombs, but more cultural heritage. Further up, there are the remains and writings of the Eight Saints of Chaozhou. The newly discovered epitaph of Lu Dong's calligraphy "Longchuan Luogong" is engraved on the upper floor of the hall, and a huge painting of "Eight Saints of Chaozhou" painted by Guangdong arts and crafts master Lu is displayed downstairs. The famous contemporary calligraphers Cui Zhi and Ai Xin Jiao Luo Qi Ru wrote inscriptions for "Li Wentang" and "Yang Fang Xie" respectively.
