Once, in the middle of winter, Emperor Qianlong came to Yixing, where it snowed for two days and two nights, covering mountains, rivers, trees, fields and cottages with a thick silvery white, and suddenly turning the beautiful south of the Yangtze River into a northern scenery. Ganlong thought it was an auspicious omen. He took a boat trip to visit the scenery of Western Opera. When the ship sailed to the West Giant Miandong Village, this snow-covered cave was named and became one of the "Ten Scenes in West Beijing".
The word "mian" means abundant water. Because the upstream water gathers in the West Ring Road, Miancun is located in the throat of the West Ring Road, so it is famous far and near. In ancient times, in order to ensure the safety of passing ships entering and leaving the port, villager Zhang built a lighthouse near Xiqiao Port. The lights don't go out all night, and the lights are used as navigation AIDS, so they are also called "Guangyuan Building". In the early years of Jiaqing, Xu Wenbiao, Xu Gunan and others helped to build a Buddhist temple next to Denglou, named Xuefu Temple. Later, it was restored and expanded by Li people many times, especially during Guangxu period, with a grand scale and dozens of monks. Later, due to the turmoil of the war, Yi Xue Temple experienced many vicissitudes, especially during its stay in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, which was destroyed by the Japanese army.
After 1980s, the spring breeze of reform and opening-up swept through China, and the Buddhist culture in universities ushered in her spring. With the gradual implementation of the national religious policy, in order to tap the cultural heritage, carry forward the national culture and develop the tourism industry, the annual report in 2002 was approved by Yixing Municipal People's Government, and it was decided to rebuild Xuefu Zen, one of the ten scenic spots in Yixing, China. The planned temple covers an area of 70 mu and will be rebuilt according to the traditional pattern. The temple officially started construction in July 2004, and successfully held the inauguration ceremony of the Heavenly King Hall and the opening ceremony of the Daxiong Hall in October 2005, with tens of thousands of believers participating in the activities. In June, 2005, 165438+ 10, the completion ceremony of Shanmen Hall, Daxiong Hall, Buddha Hall, Guanyin Hall and Dizang King Hall was successfully held, which received strong support and praise from relevant leaders at all levels and more than 20,000 believers. At present, 1 1 buildings have been built, including Daxiong Hall, Tianwang Hall, Guanyin Hall, Tibetan Hall, Three Temples, Guest Hall, Ancestral Hall, Zhaitang, Pharmacist Hall, Dormitory and so on. , and has spent more than10 million, with a total debt of more than 3 million. The next step is to build two dormitory buildings, the release pond, the bell and drum tower, the site greening, the fence and other projects. Rebuilding Xue Kun Temple has a long way to go and a bright future. It will expand more than 200 mu of land to the east next to the temple, and plan tourism development, which will be integrated with the Xue Kun Temple under construction. In the near future, Xiqiao Xue Kun Temple will become a new bright spot in Yixing. In the future, there will be plans in our temple: a nine-story pagoda, a 5-ton bronze bell at the top of the tower, a sutra storage building, an abbot building and a Qianlong Pavilion. Their style is unique, classical and elegant, and their unique architectural style will make the Cecilia Han Temple shine again.
