Mr. Liu Daming, a famous painter and professor of Shenzhen Art College, who was praised as a "genius of calligraphy and painting", died of illness on June 1th at the age of 7.

Liu Daming is a young man, and he is the owner of the Mountain Escape Hall. Born in Xiangtan, Hunan Province in 1945. Director of China Calligraphy Research Association, Professor of Shenzhen Art Institute, Vice President of Lingdong Painting and Calligraphy Institute and Vice President of Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Art Research Association.

Liu Daming began to learn calligraphy and painting at the age of five, and his works have various styles. His artistic creation continues the track of "tradition-deformation-abstraction". Most of his works are humorous, childlike and exaggerated, showing profound, Gu Zhuo and naive artistic style and unique artistic personality. The works created have a strong sense of literati calligraphy and painting. Mr. Liu's calligraphy is broad and dense, with a combination of shade and reality, and its shape is extremely dangerous, forming a concise and meaningful picture language, which looks like an abstract painting and is unique. Its abstract landscape paintings are rich in colors, showing the skill of western painting; Its opera characters are simple and humorous; His flower-and-bird paintings pursue brand-new composition and show unique personality.

Mr. Liu Daming's works have always been highly praised by the painting and calligraphy circles. His works have been awarded in the Yellow River Forest of Steles, Shenmo Forest of Steles and Pohu Forest of Steles, and have been handed down from generation to generation. He has won awards in three international painting and calligraphy competitions, namely, China-Italy Cup, Mu Ye Cup and Peony Cup, and has won awards in many national painting and calligraphy competitions. Its name is included in China Dictionary of Contemporary Painters and Calligraphers, Dictionary of Contemporary Literary Celebrities and so on. His works are collected in Shenzhen Museum, and some international friends and well-known collectors at home and abroad have a special liking for his works.

Mr. Liu Daming has always been enthusiastic about charity. He joined hands with the Chinese Education Foundation to set up the "Liu Daming Art Education Charity Special Fund". He felt from his personal experience that many poor students were shut out by the high cost of art learning. Mr. Liu tried to let more talented poor children continue to engage in artistic creation through special funds. In the special charity auction held in May, Mr. Daming produced twenty famous Mo Bao paintings, such as Preface to the Lanting Pavilion, Exorcism of Zhong Kui, and Ink and Wash Landscape, and one of them was sold for 55, yuan. All the huge donations from this auction were donated to Daming Art Scholarship Fund.
