The story of China painter's painting
In the Tang Dynasty, there was a man named Wu Daozi. The teenager lost his parents and had to leave his hometown to make a living. One evening, when Wu Daozi was passing through Dingzhou City, Hebei Province, he suddenly found a magnificent temple in front of him, "Wu Daozi painted Guanyin Monument Bailin Temple", and went in. Wu Daozi stepped into the hospital, and through the door left unlocked in the hall, he saw an old monk under the oil lamp, absorbed in painting on the temple wall. Curious, Wu Daozi quietly pushed open the door, walked in gently, and stood behind the old monk watching the painting. As soon as the old monk turned around, he found a teenage boy so absorbed in watching his mural painting that he was delighted. He asked Wu Daozi, "Do you like this painting, son?" Wu Daozi nodded his head. When the old monk learned about his life experience, he stroked his head and said, "If you want to learn painting, be my apprentice." Wu Daozi listened to the busy kowtow from master. On this day, the old monk led Wu Daozi to the back hall, pointed to the snow-white wall and said, "I want to draw a picture of the rushing river and sea on this empty wall, but it doesn't look like real water and waves many times. Tomorrow I will take you around the rivers, lakes and seas for three years, and then draw it when you come back. " Early the next morning, Wu Daozi packed his bags and set off with the old monk. Wherever he went, the old monk told Wu Daozi to practice painting. At first, he was serious. After a long time, Wu Daozi felt a little bored, so he didn't work hard at painting. The old monk called him to his side and said, "Wu Daozi, if you want to paint the surging momentum of rivers, lakes and seas, you have to work hard, and you need a drop of water and a spray to paint them." After that, the old monk opened the wooden box with him, and Wu Daozi was stunned at a glance: this box is full of paintings, none of which are complete, but all of them are a small drop of water, a spray or a layer of water waves! At this time, Wu Daozi didn't know he was wrong. From then on, he got up early and went home late every day to learn to paint water drops and waves. In rainy and windy days, he also went to the seaside with an umbrella to watch the changes of water waves. Time flies, and three years have passed. Wu Daozi's painting has made great progress, and he was praised by Master. Unexpectedly, the second day after returning to the temple, the old monk fell ill in bed. Wu Daozi knelt in front of the bed and said sincerely, "Master, I would like to draw that picture of the Pentium River and Sea for you." When the old monk saw Wu Daozi, who was fifteen or sixteen years old, he said such ambitious words. He was overjoyed and half ill, so he agreed at once. Then, Wu Daozi went into the back hall and painted the "River and Sea Pentium Map". For nine months, he stayed in the temple, eating, drinking and sleeping, and carefully conceived murals. One day in late autumn, Wu Daozi happily ran out of the back hall, knelt in front of the old monk and said excitedly, "Master, I have drawn the Pentium Map of Rivers and Seas! Please go and watch. " After listening to this, the old monk got well! He bathed and changed clothes, and led the monks of the whole temple to the back hall to watch. Wu Daozi gently opened the back door, only to see the waves, head on! A monk exclaimed loudly, "No, Tianhe spoke!" The monks were so scared that you jostled me and ran for your life. The old monk stood at the door of the temple with a bottom in his heart, laughing at the waves coming from his face, and said to Wu Daozi, "Son, this picture of the river and the sea that you drew is successful!" Since then, there has been an endless stream of literati painters who have come to Berlin Temple to watch the copy of "River and Sea Pentium Map". But Wu Daozi was not proud. He studied painting even harder and finally became a "painting saint" in China's prosperous Tang Dynasty. In order to help his disciples make progress, Wu Daozi adopted the master's method to integrate his disciples with himself ... The second story "Miscellanies of Lushi" recorded a story: once, Wu Daozi went to visit a monk and asked for a cup of tea, but the monk was not very polite to him. He was very angry, so he invited a pen and inkstone, drew a donkey on the wall of the monk's room immediately, and then left. Unexpectedly, one night, the donkey he painted turned into a real donkey, and he was very angry. He smashed the house and trampled the furniture and other things in the monk's room, which was very messy. The monk knew that the donkey painted by Wu Daozi was at work, so he had to beg him to erase the painting on the wall. After that, everything will be fine. It is a magical legend that the donkey in the painting becomes real, but it reflects that Wu Daozi painted animals with vivid pen. Story 3: In the Tang Dynasty, the painter Saint Wu Daozi came to Jizu Mountain. On the night he stayed at Jinding Temple, the moon was especially bright. He had a very speculative talk with Zen master Yuezhi about drinking on the moon and gossiping about ancient and modern times. The Zen master said, "I've heard for a long time that Master Danqing is a master. I dare to ask the master to paint impromptu on this fine night, which will open my eyes to the poor monk and leave a permanent memorial for the Cold Temple. What do you think?" Wu Daozi nodding. The Zen master ordered the young monk to wait on him. After a little thought, the painter took a pen and made a picture of a horse. The horse was really alive. Just about to draw the last stroke-ponytail, the painter felt chest tightness and nausea, so he was very sad, so he put the brush aside, walked quickly to the yard and vomited. The deacon monk hurriedly brought tea for the painter to wash, and then helped him back to the Zen room to rest. Woke up the next day, the painter's spirit was better, but he didn't remember drawing horses. After dinner, he said goodbye to the monks and went down the mountain. A few days later, the Zen master looked closely at the Picture of a Horse at once, only to find that the horse's tail had not been painted. He was very sorry, but he had no choice but to hang it in the side room of the meditation hall. The Zen master should burn a incense before painting every day, to remember the master and to watch the horse map. Look at that horse, the more I look at it, the more alive I feel, as if I were screaming to jump down. On one occasion, a dozen farmers at the foot of the mountain rushed into the temple noisily and said angrily to the Zen master, "The bald-tailed horse in your temple comes to eat our crops every night. This time, we chased it and it has been running into your temple. You have to pay back our crops." The Zen master is really "the second monk is puzzled" and said, "What kind of horses do Buddhists keep? If you don't believe me, please search all over the temple. " The farmers looked everywhere, but they didn't even see the shadow of the horse. They thought that the Zen master must be hiding, so they pestered him. After thinking for a long time, the Zen master suddenly remembered the painting and said to the farmers, "Neighbors, the old monk really has no horse, but there is a picture of a horse drawn by Master Wu Daozi. Please come in and have a look." The plowman was shocked when he saw the horse on the picture. This bald-tailed horse is exactly the same as the bald-tailed horse they followed. Look at it, there are still some green wheat seedlings in its mouth! Then, pointing to the horse in the painting, he said, "That's it, stealing our crops every night." The Zen master was furious, pointing to the bald-tailed horse and cursing: "Beast, I might as well send you to the fire pond if I keep you from hurting people." As soon as he said this, he saw the horse kneeling down with tears in his eyes. The plowman looked really surprised and thought it was a pity to burn it, so he said, "Forget it, as long as it sincerely repents and doesn't ruin the crops." Since then, people have often seen a bald-tailed horse coming down from Jizu Mountain to help farmers with firewood, wheat and rice. Many people don't know its origin, but more than a dozen plowmen know in their hearts that it is the bald-tailed god horse left by Wu Daozi's painting. Story 4: I heard that Wu Daozi, the "Painting Sage", came back from the viewing of Lidui Mountain in the New Deal one evening and passed by a thatched house. The sound of spinning cotton came from inside, but I was surprised that there was no light in the house. The next morning, Wu came to the thatched cottage. An old woman with white hair came out and invited him into the house to sit down, and invited Wu Daozi to have tea with him. Wu took the tea and asked, "Do you know me, old man?" The old woman said, "Yes, yes, I went to the street to sell thread. I heard that you are a painter of Wu, and that you are a good person and don't curry favor with the rich and the government." Wu nodded and asked, "How many people are there in your family?" The old woman said sadly, "My husband died young, and my son died of illness a few years ago, leaving me as an orphan, relying on spinning cotton and selling thread to paste my mouth." Wu Daozi sighed and asked, "Why don't you light a lamp when you spin cotton at night?" The old woman said tearfully, "Mr. Wu, I keep spinning all day and night, and the money I earn can't feed and dress. How can I afford to buy oil and light a lamp?" It has been three years since my son died. " Wu Daozi thought for a moment and said, "Old man, your life is very hard, and I can't help you. Let me draw you a picture." The old woman is very happy. Wu Daozi grinds the paper and begins to paint. First, throw the pen dipped in ink on the paper, and many shiny dots will appear on the paper immediately. Then, lightly paint the dots with the pen a few times, and finally draw a circle in the blank. He said to the old woman, "It will be useful if you stick this picture in the house." Although the old woman couldn't see what the painting was, she was convinced that Wu Daozi was a good man and wouldn't lie to her. She happily took the painting, and immediately took out a rolled thread from the bedside and said to Wu Shuo, "Thank you, Mr. Wu, I don't know how to repay you, so I'll send you the thread to exchange ink!" Wu Daozi said, "I don't paint for money. If it was for money, I wouldn't draw it even if you paid 12 silver. You'd better keep the thread for rice! " After that, I packed my painting tools and went out. The old woman carefully pasted the picture on the wall in front of the spinning wheel. When it got dark, the old woman found that the painting was actually a blue sky with countless stars shining on it, and a round moon made the room as bright as during the day. From then on, at night, the stars and the moon in the painting give off light, and it is much more convenient for the old woman to spin on the stars and the moon than before. Story 5: It is said that when Wu Daozi first learned painting, he used to learn from an ordinary painter. This old painter, who didn't even leave his name in history, knew how to educate the arts, although he didn't make any outstanding achievements in painting. He coaxed and taught all his painting skills to the student Wu Daozi without reservation. When he found that his disciples' painting skills had surpassed his own, he suggested that Wu Daozi choose another normal school and continue his further studies. What's more valuable is that he used the experience and lessons he summed up in his life to educate his disciples that if they want to make outstanding achievements, they must break away from convention and dare to take the road that no one else has taken. When Wu Daozi was about to leave his master for a study tour, the old painter told him such a meaningful sentence: "Daozi, the master has lived a lifetime, but he is just a village painter. Now your skills are indeed above mine. With your skills, you can naturally go out and travel." However, you have to remember my words: If you want to succeed in your career, you must' break the rules and find another way'. " The word "not sticking to the law and finding another way" is the crystallization of the hard work of the old painter for half a life. He has been painting hard for many years, but he has learned from his own lessons that if he wants to achieve something, he must be unconventional and bold. He told his disciples the lessons of this painstaking effort without reservation, showing his tireless noble character. "Do not stick to the rules, find another way" has become the motto of Wu Daozi's life-long study and struggle, and he has followed the teacher's path of constant innovation and continuous progress. After Wu Daozi left Mongolia as a teacher, he first broke the old rules in his study according to the instruction of "finding a new way without sticking to the rules". Instead of worshipping the painter as a teacher, he worshipped the calligrapher Zhang Xu as a teacher to study creatively. Zhang Xu was a famous calligraphy master of Crazy Grass in the Tang Dynasty. He was praised for his eclectic and creative spirit. People praised him as "crazy", which was an affirmation of his creative spirit. Wu Daozi learned calligraphy from Zhang Xu, on the one hand, he absorbed nutrition from his cursive art, on the other hand, he learned Zhang Xu's creative spirit. After hard work, he finally merged calligraphy and painting into one, and initiated the technique of "orchid leaf painting". When he finished this learning task and was ready to leave Zhang Xushi, he told Zhang Xu his own mind. He said: "Disciple Ben studied Danqing's painting, but it's a pity that today's painting techniques are outdated. Disciples aim at innovation. Fortunately, I occasionally met my teacher's calligraphy, and it was magnificent. I suddenly realized that if I could paint with calligraphy, I could change the painting style of the previous generation, so I worshipped my teacher. Now I'm leaving, and I'm going to visit mountains, rivers and temples and create landscape painting skills again! " Wu Daozi's bold creative spirit makes Zhang Xu, who has always been brave in creating without learning from the ancient method, deeply admire. He had to admit: "extremely intelligent and extremely crazy, born with a unique son!" " Later, Wu Daozi followed the teachings of the Mongolian teacher, "Don't stick to the law, find another way", and traveled around the magnificent rivers and mountains of the motherland, learning from nature. Inspired and edified by the colorful nature, he created a "splash-ink freehand landscape painting" without sketching, and finally became a famous painter with pioneering spirit in the history of China fine arts.
