Preface to Lanting Collection: Regular Script Edition

Lanting Collection was written in regular script in Ou Yangxun in February (628) of the second year of Emperor Taizong Zhenguan.

Ou Yangxun's regular script Lanting Collection is a pearl in the treasure house of European calligraphy art, with beautiful strokes, rigorous structure and elegant momentum.

The original stone of Lanting Collection has been lost for a long time, and the rubbings have been handed down for a long time, flickering and few people see it. 1984, The Dictionary of China Calligraphy, jointly published by Hong Kong Shupu Publishing House and Guangdong People's Publishing House, considered this post as a collection of later European books. 1987, Mr. Tian, a famous European book master, obtained the original extension in Shandong. After many times of deliberation and textual research, he doubted the "book collection" theory in the dictionary. Tian believes that Lanting Collection should be written, and puts forward three points for discussion.

Whether the preface of Lanting Collection should be a collection of books or an autograph needs textual research and determination. The exquisite calligraphy art is fascinating in the future, and it is a rare good teaching material for those who study European books.
