Hu Hong’s comments from others

Analysis of Hu Hong’s modern painting art

linsy, an art critic living in Europe

I remember that experimental ink painting emerged in the modern art trend in the 1985s in China. It is influenced by Western culture, but also rooted in local culture. It is a derivative of Chinese ink painting's freedom, self-discipline and self-action. In Mako's interview with you, Mr. Zao Wou-Ki was mentioned. I saw an exhibition of his abstract color and ink works at Shennongsau in the Loire River in France ten years ago, and I was very surprised at that time. You started out as a calligrapher, and your Known Space series of paintings seem to have the imprint of your calligraphy works, which are full of dynamics. If I understand correctly, can your works be classified into the category of experimental ink painting?

I once went to GOOGLE to specifically search for web information about you as a preparation for the exam. All I saw were rudimentary phrases, which are extremely inconsistent with your talent and reputation. I feel very regretful. I think that even if you are a master painter like you, in the Internet age, if the information source is not smooth, you may miss out on good things. When I was studying the paintings of the surrealist master Dali, there was a comment about him that was really thought-provoking: Dali’s best work is himself, and his success is self-promotion. Duqun's actions, unconventional dressing and whimsical words and deeds make him a symbol of surrealism.

The last time I went to your studio to admire your work, I was as shocked as if I had experienced a volcanic eruption. Mr.'s Known Space series first reminded me of Miró's abstract paintings, his Olympic Three-Level, then Picasso's Cubist art, his Les Demoiselles d'Avignon, early Analytic Cubism's breaking of the traditional perspective structure and other aesthetics The principle is to use flat coloring and use the depth of color to express texture, level and space, which is similar to Mr.'s known space series.

If Mr.’s known space series is modeled on analytic cubism, then your fission series can be said to have evolved into synthetic cubism. When I looked at Mr.'s Fission series, I felt that the painting was like the slowly flowing hot melt before a volcanic eruption, like the tranquility before the earth collapsed and the mountain was shaken. However, the energy contained in it far exceeded the Known Space series. The movement in the middle was so frightening that I didn't even dare to breathe out. I'm surprised how Mr. thought of doing this! I have visited many museums and art galleries in various countries, and there has never been anyone like you. The value of painting lies in innovation, the renewal of painting language, structure and concepts. Many times I have taken domestic guests to see the Picasso Museum, and some people complained, "Why don't you just stick a few pieces of newspaper and twine? What is this called comprehensive three-dimensional art? I can do it too!" I retorted: The first one that comes to mind is a genius, the second one is a mediocre person, and the third one is a fool. The difficulty in this world lies in the first place. What did you do earlier?

Hu Hong and his modern paintings

Article/Quicksand

Hu Hong, Chinese calligrapher and modern abstract painting artist, wants to be called a genius? Yes! We could give him many such names. However, no matter how much we praise him, it will never be excessive or exaggerated. He not only has a miraculous talent for painting art, profound knowledge and wise thoughts, but more importantly, his unfortunate fate and the ups and downs in his life have not completely destroyed his noble personality. On the contrary, after the inevitable hardships, he still has a rare state of mind that is as peaceful as the moon and as broad-minded as the wind. There are so many storms in life, but no matter how severe the storms are on the road, even when others feel trapped, he is still able to keep calm. I met Mr. Hu Hong at an art exhibition. He is gentle, elegant, and down-to-earth. His personality is broad and uninhibited. Sometimes he is deep, sometimes high-pitched, sometimes crisp, and sometimes powerful.

What remains fresh in my memory is one of his art works that brought me closer to him. Watching Mr. Hu Hong’s art works always makes people feel subtle and meaningful, with their hearts surging and their thoughts flowing. Sincere emotions swim in the pulse of the melody. The long thoughts, soft and sweet, like flowing water, allow the viewer to enter a colorful world constructed by silent language. When these wonderful moments of flashing flowers of the soul touch the sleeping emotions and make my heart beat, I want to resort to it. Yu Biduan...

I admire Mr. Hu Hong's works very much. Among Hu Hong's works, there are three categories in my inner world collection: the first is to stimulate me with beautiful pictures and musical melodies. The second is to touch my heartstrings with the profound meaning of the work; the third is to conquer my soul with the perfect combination of the highest realm. Appreciating Mr. Hu Hong's art works, immersing myself in the infinite desire that cannot be expressed, led me to the highest and purest spiritual world. Hu Hong's artistic charm is unique and can give us many valuable life inspirations. His artistic works bring readers not only the enjoyment of the aesthetic value of life, but also the inspiration and driving force for progress and self-improvement. Most calligraphy and paintings are done in one go, so they cannot be copied or imitated. They are each unique and unique, and have appreciation and collection value. People achieve success through training, and works are sublimated through training. His works flow with time, and are open but not exaggerated. The combination of dancing lines permeates his decades of cursive calligraphy skills, and the feeling of freedom permeates the paintings. The solemnity of fission and the singing of amorous feelings will make you watch it for a long time. In the work "Du Chu Chu Cheng Mei", Hu Hong uses such an abstract proposition to outline the corners that are most difficult to detect. Traveling through mediocrity in the long river of life is the sublimation of the understanding of the highest realm into the mind of the universe, and mutual understanding. The understanding is the open-mindedness and fraternity of the heart. This work is graceful and beautiful in its metaphorical depiction. And only in this way, it proves step by step that human emotions are deep and profound, moving the world! Being moved is a long-lost experience; it is an intoxicating taste. The image response always quietly touches your soul in an inadvertent moment. It is this gentle touch that moves the viewer.

Hu Hong moved from calligraphy to painting, which can be said to be from silence to the peak. What makes him outstanding is his thought-provoking creativity. At the same time, he uses his genius-like sensitivity to understand the inner situation, and uses passion and color to overflow the painting. Before putting pen to paper, he has a deep admiration for this artist. Understand and respect, and then still indulge in the spotless and beautiful realm of the painting: like a song, like a poem, like a dream, like a cloud like the moon, like water like smoke...

In Chinese and Western cultures, the two major painting concepts of China and the West that have been formed in history are originated from their respective aesthetic systems. There are clear differences between them, which determines the following "poetry as method" and "law as method" in artistic creation. "for painting" principle. Hu Hong is a senior calligrapher who moved from calligraphy to painting.

Based on traditional Chinese and Western aesthetics, he focuses on depicting the external form of objective objects in order to truly reproduce the artistic effect of the objective world and create a three-dimensional sense of objects. Using techniques and modeling, directly cutting into the picture constitutes the style of the work. Aesthetic Sin

Hong itself is a work of art. Women who are tall and elegant, have a magnetic voice, and are confident want to have him. If he had laid eyes on a woman in a softly lit restaurant, that woman would have trembled with excitement and brought tears to her eyes. If Hong raises a glass to her again, the woman will definitely follow him...

This is how my novel begins, and Hu Hong is the prototype of the novel's protagonist.

I met Hu Hong when he was in his thirties. At that time, he was good at calligraphy. The general impression is that he pays too much attention to form, and his appearance, study room, and pictures are all neat and harmonious. The form of the work is more important than the content.

After ten years of busy work, when we met again, he was still elegant, with almost no trace of weathering. However, his works have a bit more sophistication, and the form is comparable to the content. I was secretly happy for him.

We became really close recently, because I gave up writing and turned to collecting. Another ten years have passed and Hu Hong's face has shown the decline of a 60-year-old man, but his elegant and immortal aura is not inferior to that of the past, and even has the upper hand. More importantly, Hu Hong actually changed from lines to pen and ink, from monochrome to colorful, and was immersed in the creation of modern art paintings. At first I was surprised and doubtful, but slowly I felt the writing connotation in the picture. The dripping, swaying and dense colors on the picture all imply the charm of calligraphy. It turns out that it is the inheritance, development and fission of the self, and it is a leap forward with rules to follow. It doesn't matter the form or the content, the picture is full of fashion and elegant style.

This kind of calligraphy and painting works in Hu's style have been accepted by more and more people, and are collected by many institutions, celebrities and dignitaries at home and abroad. Hu Hong's decades of hard work have finally been revealed.

As for me, spending money to buy paintings is my top priority.
