[China Network]: You have just returned from giving lectures in Thailand. What is the purpose of this lecture in Thailand?
[Chen Yuanlong]: With the improvement of China's position on the international stage, our culture has attracted more and more attention from the world. China has a long history of 5,000 years. As the inheritors of national culture, we have the responsibility to spread our excellent national culture to all parts of the world. This activity was held by the Ministry of Culture for the first time, which is highly valued by our country and is of great significance to enhancing the friendship between the Chinese and Thai peoples. In this activity, an art teacher named Su Wei spoke at the graduation ceremony on behalf of the students. He said that China's careful and patient teaching guidance encouraged him, and he said that he would take China's teaching methods back and continue to teach his students. He won the second prize in this student art exhibition. He bought all the 6,000 baht prize money to learn Chinese painting, so as to continue to teach China's paintings to students. From this point of view, whether in China's paintings or in China's educational spirit, we have achieved the goal of promoting national culture.
[China. Com]: Is our teaching in Thailand also highly valued by Thailand?
[Chen Yuanlong]: Our teaching activity this time is at the invitation of Confucius Institute at Paya Royal Normal University in Sondesa, Thailand, which is a famous local university. More than 100 art teachers, painting and calligraphy lovers and celebrities from all over Thailand came to attend the study and training. 1 1 day's teaching schedule is so full that there is even no leisure time. The whole communication process has always maintained a friendly atmosphere. At the end of the teaching course, we expanded the original three award-winning places to six, and exhibited 40 outstanding works of Thai trainees together with our 60 works. On August 2 1, China Tianjin Traditional Culture Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition opened in Bangkok. Mr. Li Xuelin, Counsellor of the China Embassy in Thailand, Mr. Songchai, Leader of Mansonde Zhaobaya Royal Normal University, Ms. Chen Meiqi, General Manager of Thailand South America Company, and Mr. Xu Lin, Vice Chairman of Thailand Chamber of Commerce and Industry cut the ribbon for the exhibition. Thai newspapers, television and other media reported in succession, which was highly valued by Thai officials.
[China Network]: So among the people in Thailand, is our teaching activity very popular?
[Chen Yuanlong]: There is an associate professor Su from Kompong Speu University. He is a famous painter in Thailand and has won many awards. He is good at oil painting and watercolor painting, but painting Chinese painting is the first time. Because of his love for Chinese painting, he came to China five times to look for famous painters in China. This time, through our lecture activities, he got to know the Chinese painting teacher and finally realized his painting wish. At the end of the activity, he said that he benefited a lot from this study. He won the first prize in the student art exhibition with a prize of 8,000 baht. He was very excited. He said that he loved Chinese painting and China more. The teacher in China is great, and so is China. There is another student named Ganzana. She saw the Chinese painting training class from the news broadcast by Bangkok TV station, so she rushed to the Confucius Institute. She said that she painted 16 Chinese paintings 26 years ago, and she always carried them with her. Today, she met China and picked up a paintbrush. Through this activity, her 26-year Chinese dream was realized.
[China Net]: Why do they want to learn Chinese painting? [Chen Yuanlong]: In recent years, the rapid development of China has attracted worldwide attention, and the culture of China has also attracted worldwide attention. As an important part of China culture, Chinese painting has a long history. It has the meaning that western painting does not have, and is deeply loved by foreign friends. They are very welcome to take this opportunity to learn Chinese painting. There is a student whose name I can't remember. She comes from the border area thousands of miles away. She is a teacher. She doesn't know Chinese, but she says her grandfather is from Hainan, China. She said that when her grandfather was ill in bed, she showed her father her collection of China calligraphy, but her father turned it upside down, which made her grandfather very angry. How can Chinese descendants not know Chinese characters? Therefore, it became her father's wish to visit China and learn about China culture. Now that her father has passed away, she wants to fulfill her father's last wish and go to China to see the construction and development of China and learn about the traditional culture of China. There is also an elderly woman in her fifties in Chen Meifu. She is a Chinese teacher, and she likes Chinese painting very much. Through this activity, she was deeply moved. She said that when she first studied Chinese painting, she thought China's paintings were sacred and elegant. Teachers in China have taught 60 students. They want to return to their posts and continue to teach China's painting techniques, so that more people can understand the profoundness of the Chinese nation. At her suggestion, more than 20 students signed up to continue studying Chinese painting at Tianjin Normal University at their own expense.
[China Net]: Chinese painting is very particular. How do you teach them the meaning of Chinese painting?
[Chen Yuanlong]: In the teaching process, I repeatedly talk about the traditional Chinese characters of love, with the word "heart" in the middle. Painting is like this, not only practicing techniques, but more importantly, experiencing with your heart. Moreover, the word "love" runs through our whole teaching process. Every teacher teaches students wholeheartedly, and this patient attitude has been well received by local students. Among the students, there is an enthusiastic person and a talented woman. Her name is Meng Ling. She is a middle school principal, editor-in-chief of a newspaper and a poet. She is busy with work and has strong mobility. She was recommended by her classmates as the president of the Alumni Association. She was born in Thailand and grew up in China. She can speak three languages. She volunteered to undertake the translation and liaison work of studying in China, and made selfless contributions to everyone, leaving a very deep impression on everyone. There is a dinner party before we come back, and a student will pack it up after dinner. We said, why are you still packing? He just said that in fact, his mother only came here to see him from her home in Bangkok, but she had to come to see the teacher off, so that she left her alone at home without eating. We were very moved to hear this, and we left such feelings in just 1 1 day. [China Network]: So far, to what extent do Thai students intend to study in China?
[Chen Yuanlong]: They still contact me every day, probably after the National Day, and we finished it. We will take them to visit the Great Wall and the Forbidden City. Some students really want to see the snow in China. We hope this activity can better promote the traditional culture of China.
