China novelist. Formerly known as Zhou Zushi. Originally from Jingde, Anhui Province, I was born in Nanjing. Literary writing began as a student. 1936, the first book of poetry, Nocturnal Collection, was published. 1938 After graduating from college, I went to Yan 'an. /kloc-in the winter of 0/944, I went to Chongqing to participate in the editing work of The Masses (a publication sponsored by China * * * Production Party). After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, as a reporter of Xinhua Daily and Xinhua News Agency, he went to Northeast China, North China and Central China for interviews. From 65438 to 0946, he went to Hong Kong, engaged in the United front work in the cultural field, edited North Wen Cong, reprinted and published literary works in the liberated areas, and served as the editor-in-chief of Novel Monthly. During this period, his novel Dr. Bethune had a wide influence. 1949 returned to the mainland from Hong Kong in May, worked in the United Front and Culture Department, and served as the Deputy Minister of Culture. His works include novels, poems, essays and plays. 1958 and 1962, the first and second novels "Morning in Shanghai" describing the life changes of China people and national bourgeoisie after the founding of the People's Republic of China were published one after another. 1980 The whole book was published, and the works created many characters from national capitalists to ordinary workers. Starting from 1977, he devoted his main energy to the creation of the panoramic (6-volume) novel The Great Wall and the Map of Wan Li, which reflected the magnificent history of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. By the early 1990s, the first four volumes, such as The Fall of Nanjing, The Yangtze River is Still Pentium, Countercurrent and Undercurrent, and Dawn of the Pacific Ocean, were published one after another. I have done a lot of exploration on the novel creation of modern historical themes. His achievements in novel creation reflect the real life of China in different periods. The novel Dr. Bethune depicts the lofty image of Dr. Bethune with abundant passion, which is vivid and touching. The representative work "Morning in Shanghai", with the theme of transforming national industrialists and businessmen, has created capitalist images with different personalities, with a large scale and rigorous conception, which has great influence at home and abroad. There are also novels such as Spring Shortage, Short Songs on the Plateau, Spring in the Valley, novella Children in the West Water, novel Yin Suya, six series of novels with anti-Japanese theme, Wan Li Great Wall Map, prose reports, Bethune Fragments, Journey to Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei and other collections of poems and essays.
He used to be Secretary-General of the United Front Work Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China East China Bureau, Vice Minister of Propaganda Department of Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, Vice Minister of Culture of People's Republic of China (PRC) and Vice Chairman of China Calligraphers Association.
He died in Beijing on October 8th, 2004, at the age of 90.
