Avoiding everyone and going to Quanzhou for a weekend seems to have gone through a thousand years.

Quanzhou is a very low-key city.

There are no bustling tourists and no places to punch in.

The city is dilapidated, the buildings are old and the traffic is underdeveloped.

I just like this thousand-year-old shabby.

Just like looking for an old book, I found it by chance and couldn't put it down.

Quanzhou is the city I fell in love with at first sight.

Like to shuttle in the arcade,

I heard a strong Minnan dialect on the street corner.

I like visiting the Confucian Temple Square.

Listening to Nanyin's ancient songs with a little sadness.

Or look up at the dome of the Islamic temple of Jing Qing,

Feel the prayers of a thousand years ago.

Yi Jie Temple

Quanzhou Confucian temple

Baiyue Road, Yunshan, from Shizhou.

Quanzhou has always lived in the southeast for its openness and tolerance.

The Confucian Temple and West Street, which began to form at the beginning of the city,

It is a microcosm of Quanzhou.

Coming from Tumen Street, I saw a five-door building, 20 16 CCTV Spring Festival Gala, and the Confucian Temple, as a branch venue in Quanzhou, was well known by the people all over the country. Quanzhou Confucius Temple is the largest Confucius Temple in the southeast of China, where you can see the architecture of the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Passing through the gate of the archway, there is a river-crossing passage in front of it. The bridge is called "Zhusi Bridge", which is a monument erected during Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty. Zhusi is two rivers in Confucius' hometown-Zhushui and Surabaya. Legend has it that Confucius once set up an altar to give lectures between Zhushui and Surabaya, so "Zhusi" became synonymous with Confucianism.

The Confucian Temple covers a large area, surrounded by Wen Zhuang Zhuangyuan Building, Caigong Temple and other buildings. There are 3000 stone tablets in the pavilion, which is a metaphor for more than 3000 Confucius disciples. Seventy-two bridges stand beside Chi Pan, which is a metaphor for the seventy-two sages of Confucius' disciples.

Walking into the main hall, there are three generations of emperors' imperial books hanging on it: Master Wan Shi by Kangxi, No Life for the People by Yongzheng, and A Collection of Saints by Jiaqing. The whole hall is resplendent and magnificent.

Every year, during the college entrance examination, everyone comes here to pay homage to Confucius, and all previous college entrance examination champions in Quanzhou can get the "Quanzhou Confucian Temple Scholarship".

West street

An ancient street with a history of thousands of years,

West Street lasts a thousand years.

West Street is the biggest treasure in Quanzhou, with a history of 1300 years, which is old enough. The city is noisy, and people and cars are chaotic. I am glad that it has not been planned as a so-called old street. It's dilapidated and retains the most authentic and complete historical block. This is a "living" folk street.

There are ancient buildings, arcades and luxury houses in West Street, and there are many famous luxury houses shining in the depths of the alley. From Ouyang Zhan in Tang Dynasty, almost every dynasty had great men attached to West Street. Feel free to enter an ancient building at any time, still crowing, raising dogs to tease cats, children and grandchildren around their knees, and enjoying family happiness.

West Street is a primitive ordinary house in use. In the memory of "Old West Street", "fist shochu song" prevailed here, and southern Shaolin martial arts, shochu and Nanyin … Quanzhou people lived happily here for generations.

West Street is also a food street, with longan, moist cakes, fried cakes, batter, garlic sticks and snails on the east wall ... All kinds of traditional foods are nostalgic, and there is nothing to justify eating here.

In the center of Xijie Road stands a brightly lit bell tower. The bell tower was built in 1934, which combines the styles of western Fujian and southern Fujian and has become one of the landmark buildings in Quanzhou.

Kaiyuan Temple

The immortals in Quanzhou are a little crowded,

There may be a temple in every alley.

In which city,

What about Taoism, Buddhism and Islam?

In the 26th year of Kaiyuan (738), Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty ordered all states in the world to build a temple with the year number, and the name of the temple was Kaiyuan Temple. Now there are Kaiyuan temples all over the country, but Quanzhou Kaiyuan Temple is the largest and the first ancient temple in southern Fujian.

The main hall is supported by nearly a hundred giant stone pillars, commonly known as "Baizhutang", and a wooden couplet is hung on the stone pillars. "This place was a Buddhist country in ancient times, and the streets are full of saints." This was written by Zhu, a Dali scholar in the Southern Song Dynasty, and a master monk in modern times. It is a true portrayal of Quanzhou, an ancient city with strong religious and cultural colors.

Entering the main hall, the most attractive thing is the 24 flying musicians between the beams and troughs, which is rare in ancient buildings in China, because these statues have wings, much like Cupid in the western legend.

On the platform in front of the temple, there are 72 sculptures of the Sphinx in bluestone relief, and the two ancient Brahmanism blue stone pillars on the back porch of the temple were moved from the destroyed ancient Hindu temple in Yuan Dynasty when the temple was repaired in Ming Dynasty.

Kaiyuan Temple has a magical Tan Yue Temple. The gate is closed all the year round, and many believers are praying and worshipping at the gate. Kaiyuan Temple was built by the owner of Tan Yue Temple, Huang Shougong (Tan Yue means: the person who donated money to the temple).

Huang Shougong was a famous rich man in Quanzhou at that time. He is modest and hospitable, knowledgeable, known as the "Confucian scholar in the county" and has the demeanor of a Confucian businessman. Therefore, Tan Yue Temple has become one of the reasons why many students with fame and fortune come to learn Buddha and worship Buddha.

There is a mulberry tree 1300 years old in the temple, which is the oldest existing mulberry tree in China. At that time, Huang Shougong donated his mulberry field to build a temple, and the plaque in the main hall read the legend of "Sanglian Dharma World".

The East and West Twin Towers are the most famous in the whole temple. We can never get tired of seeing these two ancient buildings. The East Tower is Zhen Guo Tower and the West Tower is Renshou Tower, which was built in the Tang Dynasty. Since its construction, it has undergone many renovations and damages, and now it is preserved after reconstruction in the Southern Song Dynasty.

There are 39 stories of Sakyamuni embossed on the Sumitomo Tower of the Twin Towers, and each niche of the Twin Towers has a relief Buddha statue. * * * Eighty protective statues, each with a different costume, posture and expression.

Swiss Dai Miao and German Ike 1935 co-authored the book "The Twin Towers of Erythrina", which photographed every image of the Twin Towers of Quanzhou and explained the contents in detail. This book is worth reading.

Three temples

guandi temple

Among many temples, the most popular incense must be Guandi Temple in Tumen Street. Compared with the quietness of the nearby Jing Qing Temple and Wenfu Temple, Guandi Temple is really crowded with people. Whenever you come here, you can feel the lively scene.

In the early years, Guandi Temple was mainly dedicated to Guan Jun, and in the Ming Dynasty, it began to worship Yue Fei. Quanzhou's local commerce and trade are developed, and the traditional business culture pays attention to the word "reputation". Guan Gong's honest image has become the representative of this virtue, so it is regarded as the patron saint of business, also known as "Wu Caishen".

Many businessmen will donate some incense money when they come to pray for wealth, and Guandi Temple will also spend most of the incense money to help run schools and accumulate good deeds. Therefore, Guandi Temple has become one of the most popular temples in southern Fujian.

Guandi Temple is a building with strong Minnan architectural style and strong local style. There are famous plaques in the main hall, such as the calligraphy of Zhu, a great scholar in the Song Dynasty, and the calligraphy of calligraphers in the Ming Dynasty, which add some cultural details to Guandi Temple.

Three temples

Jing Qing Temple

Jing Qing Temple, also known as Isuhab Grand Mosque, is the oldest existing Islamic temple in China, founded by Arab Muslims. Founded in the Northern Song Dynasty, it has been 1000 years. This Jing Qing Temple is next to Guandi Temple, and the two religions get along well.

Enter from the gate of Jing Qing Temple, which is an imitation of the gate of Umayyad Mosque in Damascus. The top cover adopts a very traditional Chinese pattern, which can be described as very diverse in style.

Through the gatehouse, you might as well look back at the two rows of Arabic stone carvings on the back wall, which are said to record the founding date, reconstruction time and the earliest name of Jing Qing Temple.

Go ahead and you can see a stone carving with a red border. This is the protection order of Jing Qing Temple, and it is also the imperial edict issued by Ming Chengzu in the fifth year of Yongle. This is an important relic of Jing Qing Temple.

The temple of worship, also known as the Temple of Heaven, is a place to worship God. The roof of Fengtian Temple used to be a huge dome, which collapsed in the earthquake in Wanli period of Ming Dynasty, leaving only four walls and four pillars in the main hall. Although it has been moved or lost, most of the plinths and columns remain in place.

Looking back at the history of Jing Qing Temple, many Arabs played an important role in its construction. For example, Ahama, a Jerusalemite, invested heavily in 1309. In the 20th century, the Sultan of Oman donated all the money to build a large-scale chapel in the east of Jing Qing Temple.

twin bridge

the luoyang bridge

Quanzhou is the starting point of the Maritime Silk Road.

The stone bridge connecting the sea is the main traffic artery.

Qian Fan was once very rich and traveled all over the north and south.

Today, after twists and turns, it records history and life memories.

Luoyang Bridge has a history of nearly a thousand years, and is known as "the first bridge on the sea" and one of the "four famous bridges" in ancient times. It is clearly made in Fujian, why is it called Luoyang Bridge?

In the early years of the Tang Dynasty, social unrest and frequent wars caused many Central Plains people to move south. People from the Central Plains moved to Quanzhou and southern Fujian, bringing advanced technology and experience from the Central Plains. They came to Quanzhou and saw that the mountains and rivers here were very similar to the ancient capital Luoyang, so they named this place "Luoyang".

Luoyang Bridge was built under the call of Cai Xiang, the magistrate of Quanzhou, and the process was extremely difficult, because the intersection of Lianjiang and the sea was deeply eroded by seawater, and the bridge foundation must be particularly strong to prevent the erosion of the tide. The local people invented the method of planting oysters to strengthen the bridge foundation.

They first threw a lot of stones into the river along the central axis of the bridge, and then used the method of "oyster fixation" Oyster shells can be attached to rocks or other oyster shells and have strong reproductive ability.

Taking advantage of the rapid reproduction of oysters, the original loose stone embankment was glued into a solid whole to prevent the cornerstone from being washed away by the tide. Then build a boat dock on it.

This bridge-building method lasted for seven years, and it is really a masterpiece created by nature, so it will last for thousands of years.

On the deck of Luoyang Bridge, there are 500 balustrades and 28 carved stone lions as decorations. These exquisite stone carvings vividly show the unique charm of Huian, the ancient "stone carving capital".

twin bridge

Anping Bridge

Anping Bridge, also called "Wuliqiao", has a history of nearly 900 years. It is the longest medieval beam stone bridge in the world and the longest existing harbor stone bridge in China.

Before I went, the picture of my brain was a spectacular cross-sea bridge, which made me yearn for it. When it comes to the fields, Anping Bridge is like this in the eyes of everyone:

The ancient vicissitudes of life, the waves are calm, like a huge stone dragon lying on the lake, leisurely looking at me, a distant person who came here with great interest. What about the spectacular imagination? What about the imaginary bay?

Anping Bridge is surrounded by land, and there is no trace of crossing the bay. It is more like a landscape bridge built in a wetland park.

At that time, Anping Bridge invented a more scientific method, "lying on the wood and sinking the foundation". Because of the muddy water depth in Anhai Bay, riprap is easy to sink, leading to stone waste. In the dry season, the Chinese fir will be layered and crossed in the shallows first, and then the big stone strips will be pressed. With the heightening of the stone strips, the weight is getting heavier and heavier, and the wood defecation gradually sinks to the bottom, laying the foundation for the pier.

After the completion of the bridge, the method of "lying on the wood and sinking the foundation" is not only simple, but also saves labor and materials.

Anping Bridge was completed in 15. The most touching thing is that after the death of Huang Hu, the builder, his son Huang Yi inherited his father's will and continued to raise money everywhere to build a bridge. This persistence and tenacity are beyond the reach of ordinary people.

Quanzhou is really suitable for slow-paced life.

With a strong humanistic atmosphere, I casually met a thousand-year-old scenic spot.

There is a temple, three temples and two bridges in this street.

There is basically no charge, just let it go and play as you want.

Today, I want to introduce some interesting things in Quanzhou.

Introduce Quanzhou's food next time.

Because it's so delicious, it's really worth reading.
