The role and usage of resistance boxes in physics

Function

The sliding rheostat can change the resistance connected to the circuit and play the role of continuously changing the current, but it cannot accurately know the resistance value connected to the circuit. If you need to know the connection To determine the resistance of a resistor entering a circuit, a resistor box is used.

A resistor box is a rheostat that can adjust the size of the resistor and display the resistance value. The resistance box can indicate the resistance of the resistor connected to the circuit. The resistance value is small, but the resistance change is discontinuous. However, the value change is not as accurate as that of the sliding rheostat.

Use of the resistance box

When using it, connect the two terminals circuit (the two terminals are not divided into positive and negative poles), adjust the dial to get any resistance value between 0~××××××Ω (usually 9999.9 Ω). (Usually turn the dial clockwise) Multiply the indication point corresponding to the dial by the multiple marked on the dial, and then add them together to get the resistance value of the connected circuit.

How to read the resistance box

Multiply the indication point corresponding to each dial by the multiple marked on the panel, and then add them together to get the resistance of the connected circuit.
