Zhengzhou Art Museum is invested and constructed by the Zhengzhou Municipal People’s Government. It is a key cultural construction project of the Zhengzhou Municipal People’s Government during the “Ninth Five-Year Plan”.
Overview
The foundation stone of Zhengzhou Art Museum was laid on April 20, 1995, and it was opened to the public in October 1997. The museum is located in Zhengzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone, covering an area of ??28.4 acres, with a construction area of ??5,200 square meters and a total investment of 20 million yuan.
Zhengzhou Art Museum (Zhengzhou Painting Academy) is affiliated to the Zhengzhou Municipal Culture Bureau and is a public institution. Its establishment has gathered a team of professional painters, with 4 first-level artists and 7 second-level artists. , 7 third-level artists, are responsible for the tasks of calligraphy and painting creation and art research of the Zhengzhou Municipal People's Government and the Art Museum, and are responsible for the important tasks of art creation research and spiritual civilization construction.
The overall design of Zhengzhou Art Museum integrates modern architectural style and elegant gardening environment, setting off the nobility and elegance of Zhengzhou Art Museum, an art palace.
The main hall has two circular exhibition halls of 600 square meters, one exhibition hall of 300 square meters, one multi-functional hall of 400 square meters, two galleries of 100 square meters and 200 square meters. There is 1 reception hall and 1 three-story painter's creation building (equipped with 21 sets of painter's creation rooms). The art museum is equipped with national second-level monitoring and fire alarm facilities, and has the ability to receive large-scale exhibitions of various art categories at home and abroad.

Art Museum Collection
The collection mainly includes 500 works by famous modern and contemporary calligraphers and painters Long Rui, Bai Xueshi, Liu Wenxi, He Jiaying, Du Ziling, Shen Peng, Sha Manweng, Wang Hongjian and others. The remaining pieces include oil paintings donated by Michelle Art Center, more than 100 traditional Chinese paintings donated by famous Taiwanese painter Liu Yantao, and more than 100 traditional folk art works.

Status and influence
As an authoritative art institution in Henan Province, Zhengzhou Art Museum is becoming the center for the formation of the Central Plains School of Painting; the center for domestic and foreign art exchange activities in the Central Plains region; the Central Plains calligraphy and painting A center for academic research; a center for the government’s collection of fine calligraphy and painting art.
