Xiao Guohua was born in Panbi Village, Guanshi Town, Hengnan County, Hunan Province in 1958. He loved painting since childhood. In 1985, he was admitted to the Fine Arts Department of Hengyang Normal University. He is now a powerful oil painter in Hunan Province. .
In 1988, his work won the first prize in the calligraphy category of Hengyang City's "Jinyan Cup" first calligraphy, painting and photography competition.
In 1989, he won the third prize in the calligraphy category of the "Zunyi Cup" Chinese Calligraphy, Painting and Seal Competition jointly organized by the Guizhou Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Guizhou Artists Association, Guizhou Calligraphers Association and other units and was collected.
