Preface to Lanting was written by Wang Xizhi on March 3rd, the 9th year of Yonghe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (AD 353). The full text consists of 28 lines and 324 words. The article is fresh and beautiful, and the calligraphy is vigorous and elegant. Later generations commented: "The font of the right army has changed. Its heroic spirit is natural, so it is considered to be a model from ancient times to the present, and it is known as "the best running script in the world". For thousands of years, it has become a classic model for calligraphers to copy their hearts and pursue their hands.
