Anshan Post Castle, also known as Anshan City, is an appendage of the Great Wall in Liaodong in the Ming Dynasty.
According to historical records, "A post station was set up here in the 20th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (AD 1387) and rebuilt in the 6th year of Wanli (AD 1578)".
Anshan Post Castle is located in Anshan Village, Dong 'anshan Town, qianshan district, 7.5 kilometers south of Anshan City.
It is about 100 meters east of Donganshan and about 300 meters west of Xianshan, just on the platform between the two mountain passes.
Adjacent to Anhai Highway, it is 250 meters away from Shenyang-Dalian Railway in the west and 200 meters away from Yangliuhe River in the north.
Bearing: 60 degrees south by west.
Anshan Daobao is an isosceles trapezoid castle.
The length of the four walls is: east-west wall 276m, south wall 290m and north wall 283m.
Total length 1 125m, wall height 10m, foundation width 8m, stone foundation 2m, brick building height 7.5m, wall thickness 7.5m, rammed city soil, and castles in the four corners of the city.
The original Guandi Temple and Longwang Temple in the city were built in the Qing Dynasty.
There is a stone well outside the southwest gate, with a small mouth and a large bottom, which is suspected to be a relic of the ancient city of Liao Dynasty.
The plaque at the southwest gate was added during the reconstruction of 1986 and inscribed by the famous calligrapher Mr. Wen Tongchun.
Anshan was built late, but it has a long history. Archaeological findings at the Xiaogushan ancient human site in Haicheng prove that humans lived here about 20,000 years ago.
