Yangsi Temple

Located on the upper cliff of Gudukou in Shuhe Town, it sits west to east and north to the hillside. According to the remains, this temple was built during the Qianlong period. Although it is called the boatmen's guild hall, it is named "yangsi Temple" because it commemorates the honor of ancestor Yang.

Since the early Qing dynasty, the commodity economy has developed rapidly and the trade circulation has developed.

As the Shuhe River is an important traffic artery in the upper reaches of the Han River, it has become one of the largest material distribution centers in southern Shaanxi.

The southern goods here go north to Zhashui until Xi 'an, and the northern goods here are loaded with Laohekou and Wuhan in the south.

Water transportation is extremely prosperous, and there are only 100 ships berthed in Japan.

So shipowners and boatmen raised funds to build a quaint and spectacular "yangsi Temple" at the mouth of the Shu River as a place for discussion, assembly and rest.

Due to the danger and urgency of Hanjiang Beach, all kinds of ships stopped here and went to the temple to worship Master Yang's peaceful and smooth sailing.

On both sides of the main entrance of yangsi Temple, there are celadon inlaid couplets. The first couplet is "the state of Fude Pi, the temple is towering, and the rain volume in Yun Fei is towering"; The bottom line is "Zhaohan River in Ling Wei, I like the smooth sailing of the ladder, and I travel freely in the calm waves".

Because yangsi Temple is a place where boatmen pray for God's blessing, its theater is also called "Mingde Building".

On June 6th every year, yangsi Temple Fair is held, and various local dramas, such as Han Opera, are staged in the yard, which is very lively.

It is also a place where local people exchange materials.

There is a statue of Master Yang in the Great Hall of the Central Plains, which is more than ten feet high and looks magnificent.

There are stone tablets in the left and right corners of the temple.

The left handwriting is undamaged and cannot be verified.

On the right, the tablet is "Shipman's Notification Tablet of Yan Wharf in Zhiyang County", with clear handwriting. From the content, we can clearly see the historical role of yangsi Temple and the prosperity of Shu River traffic and trade at that time.

On the right side of the gate is the famous Chaoyang ancient cave, which was built during the Qianlong period.

In the first year of Daoguang (182 1), Wang Haijiao, a famous doctor, lived in seclusion here and compiled a book "Singing Medical Elegant Words".

The ancient cave in Chaoyang is unfathomable. It is said that "in the early years of the Republic of China, several people walked together, and the torch was used for more than half a day. It was dark and scattered, and they turned back halfway."

There is also folklore that this cave can reach Sichuan at the bottom of Tongjiang River, stretching for more than a thousand miles, and is known as the first cave in southern Shaanxi.

The exploration is now under development, and tourists from all over the world can visit here in a few years.

There is a stone turtle carrying a monument outside, facing the Han River. It is said that it has the effect of suppressing water and evil spirits. This turtle has been repaired for more than 200 years, and the water in the Han River will not rise to the turtle horn.
