What is the story of four people in regular script?

The four masters of regular script refer to Ou Yangxun (European style), Yan Zhenqing (Yan style), Liu Gongquan (Liu style) and Zhao Mengfu (f incarnation) (Zhao Ti) in Yuan Dynasty. The word "kai" in regular script is also pronounced as "Ji", which originally meant a tree called Pistacia chinensis. According to ancient records, many regular script trees were planted on the tomb of Confucius. According to legend, the branches of the regular script tree are sparse and unyielding, which accords with Confucius' character of "walking straight", so it is also used to describe honest and frank. Later, the word "Kai" led to the meanings of "Fa", "Model" and "Model".

Only by understanding the word "Kai" can we better understand the calligraphy meaning represented by regular script. In the Tang dynasty, this square font was officially named "regular script" in order to set an eternal model for calligraphy style and carry forward the glory of the Tang dynasty.

Ou Yangxun's obsession with calligraphy can be said to be unparalleled. When Bian Xiao first heard this story, he couldn't help but sigh: "Is there such a person?" I will share this story with you today.

On one occasion, Ou Yangxun rode out and came across a stone tablet written by Suo Jing, a famous calligrapher in Jin Dynasty. He rode on a horse and watched it carefully for a while before leaving, but just a few steps later, he couldn't help but return to dismount and watch. He boasted many times that he didn't want to leave, so he simply spread a blanket on the ground and sat and pondered over it. Finally, he sat by the monument for three days before leaving.

2. Yan Zhenqing abides by etiquette.

Yan Zhenqing is famous not only for his calligraphy, but also for his integrity. As an official, he dared to remonstrate with the emperor, which won him a good reputation. As the saying goes, "words are like people." Yan Zhenqing's handwriting is dignified and dignified in print, and his running script is vigorous and powerful, which is consistent with his integrity.

During the Anshi Rebellion, Yan Zhenqing, who was appointed as an ancient adviser, still abided by the etiquette. He impeached Cui Yi, assistant minister of the Ministry of War, admonishers Li Heji and Guan Chongsi, etc., and waited for them in Wang Fu, Guangping, so that officials could abide by the law. In his later years, he offended the prime ministers Yuan Zai, Yang Yan, Qilu and others because he was outspoken, and was finally killed.
