Appreciation of Lotus by Su Shi of Song Dynasty

Appreciation of "Lotus"

Su Shi---"Lotus" is a short poem that expresses the poet's love for lotus seeds and reflects the poet's intention not to take frustration in officialdom seriously. A calm and leisurely mood. The first two narrative sentences of the poem explain that the "selling lotus house" strongly attracted the poet, and the poet even gave up the plan of boating on the West Lake. In this plain narrative, the poet's love for lotus seeds is revealed. "Twisting the lotus and peeling the lotus seeds" not only describes the quick and agile movements of the seller of lotus seeds, but also expresses the poet's eagerness to buy lotus seeds. The sentence "Dew is the flavor and the moon is the fragrance" uses a synaesthesia rhetorical technique. It seems unreasonable to use "dew" and "moon" to describe the flavor and aroma of lotus seeds, but this description leaves unlimited space for the reader's imagination. and endless aftertaste.
