There are two memorial statues of peace girls, which were created in 1985, and the other one stands in the original Peace Square in Nagasaki, Japan. This is a stone carving presented to Japan International Peace Square in the name of the country, which shows the inviolability of the peaceful environment and gives people a feeling of purity and peace.
Hu Yaobang 1983 visited Japan and promised to present the statue to Nagasaki Peace Square for permanent display in the name of the country. The first draft of "Peace Girl" designed by Pan He was quickly selected. At that time, it was required that the sculpture base of all participating countries should not be higher than 2 meters. Pan He took great pains to make the whole statue look taller and more prominent.
Finally, there is a peaceful girl, with her upper body leaning forward and her hands protecting the white dove backwards. Seen from the horizontal space, the whole volume is much larger than other statues. The girl's pure and gentle smile and beautiful body lines give people a beautiful feeling of peace and harmony. This is the first China sculpture placed abroad.
