Calligraphy experts tell you why you should try to use paper when practicing calligraphy.

When I wrote this Heart Sutra, I used a black grid on the paper, and the ink was changed into a small box of gold powder with a small cup of glue.

First, wrap a circle of glue with a pen, and when the juice drops, touch a little gold powder with the nib, so you can easily carry the pen.

The brush in this state is just dry and wet, and the shade is suitable. It's effortless to write, and it feels really good!

With such expensive ink, there is no such thing as retting ink.

When I wrote the next article, not only was the customer satisfied, but even I felt that there were many ways to deal with it on the next level, but in fact I didn't write many words. Compared with a few hundred words a day on wool paper, that's really nine Niu Yi hairs.

However, the efficiency and income can't compare with the words on hundreds of wool papers.

Why is this?

It suddenly occurred to me that this is a very important question. After thinking hard, I summed up three points.

I spent a lot of time writing without a decent word. It's like picking a fruit for a long time, cutting it open, and insects breed.

You can imagine how bad the words written in this state of mind are.

This is not the most terrible. If you are in a bad mood and scribble, you will develop a pen disease and habit that is difficult to extricate yourself. (The so-called muscle memory) will not be worth the candle.

In order to make your writing more subtle and relaxed, try to use better pen and ink. It doesn't cost a few dollars, but it's all spent on developing your own skills. Why not?

Writing with tassel paper is easy to cause a state of inattention. Many words are written mechanically, and their attention, observation and memory are off-line, which leads to poor training effect.

Using paper well is not only malleable, but also more handy and out of tune.

And because good paper is expensive, you must be more careful when writing and dare not relax.

This intensive exercise can keep our perception and memory system active all the time, and the effect of learning and memory is the best.

Keep working hard and keep this learning state, and our calligraphy will soon be in class.

This is the so-called 10,000-hour law.

But ten thousand hours is not important. It is important to practice 10,000 hours effectively and intently under the correct methodology and tools, that is, deliberate training can make us achieve something in this respect.

However, selvage paper can easily make us fall into the comfort zone of self-deception, leading to the futile practice of machinery.

I have spent more than 200,000 hours in the toilet, and I have never been a urologist or anorectal doctor. I still have to go to the hospital if I don't feel well.

And I have been gone for 16 years, and I am ugly to death in the eyes of people who have just finished military training.

Because when you study, you will reflect, concentrate and correct your mistakes. There will be little progress every hour, and this progress will continue to grow with the accumulation of time. One day, it will complete the leap from quantitative change to qualitative change.

In addition to relieving stress, adjusting mood and cultivating sentiment, the most important thing for us to practice calligraphy is to add value to ourselves and create value at the same time.

The only way to make the efforts of calligraphy produce value is to write works.

But have you ever seen the works written with tassel paper swept the world or spread for a hundred years?

You know, every kind of paper has its own characteristics, and if you make good use of it, it will complement each other. If you don't know, you will inevitably suffer.

This is why many people are amazed at what is written on woolen paper, and they are immediately forced to use rice paper.

Calligraphy is profound, but there are many ways to get lost. If there is no reference, how can it trend?

Insisting on practicing calligraphy with good paper is the biggest shortcut I have taken in the course of calligraphy.

This is a golden mean. I share it with you, hoping to have one more fellow traveler. What did you say?/Sorry?
