The overall layout was built in accordance with the highest standards of memorial buildings since the Tang and Song Dynasties, and a group layout form was adopted, which was balanced and symmetrical and extended to both vertical and horizontal directions, with three longitudinal axes as the main part and two horizontal axes as the auxiliary part. Daimiao starts from the south gate of Jiutai City in the south and ends at the central axis of Nantianmen in the north.

Dai Temple displays the Confucian concept of etiquette with its internal architectural arrangement, and the whole building complex is centered on a north-south longitudinal axis, which extends horizontally in a balanced way. The main buildings located on the central axis are: Yaocan Pavilion Hall, Daimiao Square, Zhengyangmen, Peitianmen, Ren 'anmen, Tianyi Hall, Middle Bedroom and Houzai Gate. There are east-west corridors between Ren 'anmen and Tianzhu Hall, which form the central closed courtyard of Dai Temple.
