Chen Yuanqi's Artistic Experience

1937, Chen Yuanqi was born in a scholarly family. Influenced by Mr. Chen, a famous educator and calligrapher's father, he loved calligraphy since childhood. When I was studying in Jinan No.1 Middle School, I was the editor of the school newspaper. After joining the army, he worked in the General Staff Bureau of Surveying and Mapping for aerial photography. Engaged in teaching and environmental protection research for many years after changing jobs. He likes music and absorbed many artistic essences in his creation. His calligraphy is rigorous, beautifully structured and elegant.

When I was a child, I started with Yan Ti, and then practiced. The cursive script began with Sun's Book Score and was absorbed by Huai Su, Wang Duo and other famous artists. Seal script is centered on Zhong Ding and Shigu, especially Weibei. In 1980s, under the guidance of Ouyang Zhongshi, a famous contemporary calligrapher alumnus, cursive script made great progress. Later, he worshipped famous calligraphers Xiao Lao and Wang Xiaju as teachers, famous painter Zhou Tianshou to learn flower and bird painting, and Peking Opera artist Wang Xueqin to sing Peking Opera. He often said: "There is no end to art, no end to learning, never too old to learn, never too old to learn."
