Works of famous ancient calligraphers

The works of famous calligraphers in ancient times are as follows:

1. Liu Gongquan, whose works include: "Diamond Sutra Stele", "Mysterious Tower Stele" and "Shence Junji Shengde Stele".

Liu Gongquan (778-865), whose courtesy name was Chengxuan. A native of Jingzhao Huayuan (now Yaozhou District, Tongchuan City, Shaanxi Province). A famous calligrapher and poet in the mid-Tang Dynasty, he was the younger brother of Liu Gongchuo, Minister of War.

2. Huang Tingjian, whose works include: "Songfeng Pavilion Poems" and "Zhushangtie".

Huang Tingjian (August 9, 1045 - May 24, 1105), courtesy name Luzhi, also known as Valley Daoren and Fu Weng, was a native of Hongzhou Fenning (Xiushui County, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province), Northern Song Dynasty Famous writer, calligrapher, and founder of Jiangxi Poetry School.

3. Wang Xizhi, whose works include: "Huang Ting Jing", "Le Yi Lun", "Seventeen Tie", "Preface to the Lanting Collection" and "Chu Yue Tie".

Wang Xizhi (303-361, one version says 321-379), courtesy name Yishao, was a calligrapher in the Eastern Jin Dynasty and was known as the "Sage of Calligraphy". Langya was born in Linyi (now Linyi, Shandong), and later moved to Shanyin, Huiji (now Shaoxing, Zhejiang), and lived in seclusion in Jinting, Shan County in his later years.

He successively served as secretary Ying, general Ningyuan, governor of Jiangzhou, and later as internal history of Kuaiji, leading the right general. His calligraphy is good at Li, Cao, Kai, Xing and other styles. He studies the styles carefully, imitates them with his heart and hands, draws on the strengths of others, prepares various styles, and cultivates them in one furnace. He breaks away from the writing style of Han and Wei Dynasties and becomes his own style with far-reaching influence.

4. Lu Ji, whose works include: "Pingfu Tie".

Lu Ji (261-303), courtesy name Shiheng, was a native of Wu County, Wu County (now Suzhou, Jiangsu Province). A famous writer and calligrapher in the Western Jin Dynasty. Born in the Lu family of Wu County, he was the grandson of Prime Minister Lu Xun of Sun Wu and the fourth son of Grand Sima Lu Kang. Together with his younger brother Lu Yun, he was known as the "Er Lu", and together with Gu Rong and Lu Yun, he was also known as the "Three Heroes of Luoyang".

5. Wang Xianzhi, whose works include: "Yatouwan Tie", "Chunhua Pavilion Tie" and "Mid-Autumn Tie".

Wang Xianzhi (344-386), courtesy name Zijing, a minor official slave, Han nationality, native of Langya Linyi (now Lanshan District, Linyi City, Shandong Province), was born in Shanyin, Kuaiji (now Zhejiang Province) Shaoxing City). A famous calligrapher, poet, painter and relative of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the seventh son of the "Sage of Calligraphy" Wang Xizhi, the son-in-law of Sima Yu, Emperor Wen of Jin Dynasty, and the father-in-law of Emperor Sima Dezong of Jin'an.
