The story of Spring Festival couplets

1. Wang Xizhi, a calligrapher in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, moved from his hometown to Shaoxing, Zhejiang one year. At this time, it was the end of the year, and Wang Xizhi wrote a pair of Spring Festival couplets for his family and posted them on both sides of the gate. Couplets are:

Spring breeze, spring rain, spring scenery, new year, new year's new scene.

Unexpectedly, because Wang Xizhi's calligraphy was the best in the world, he was highly respected by people at that time. As soon as this couplet was posted, it was uncovered at night. After the family told Wang Xizhi, Wang Xizhi didn't get angry, so he started writing and asked his family to post it again. This salary is written like this:

Ti Ying Beixing, Yannan Feather Corner.

Who knows, at dawn, it was uncovered again. But this day is New Year's Eve, and the next day is New Year's Day. Seeing that Spring Festival couplets are hung in front of every household in the neighborhood, but there is no one in front of my house, Mrs. Wang is anxious to urge her husband to find a way.

Wang Xizhi thought about it, smiled and wrote a pair of pen words. After writing, he asked his family to cut out a pair of couplets and put the first half on the door:

Happiness never comes in pairs, but it never rains alone.

Sure enough, someone stole it at night. But when I look at it in the moonlight, I can see that this couplet is too unlucky. Although Wang Xizhi is a famous calligrapher, he can't take down this couplet full of dangerous predictions and hang it up. The thief had to sigh and slip away in the dark.

It was just dawn on the first day of the first month of the first month, and Wang Xizhi personally went out yesterday to post a half-cut. At this time, many people are watching. When you look at it, the couplet becomes:

Until today, there has been no double happiness, but last night it never rains but it pours. When everyone saw it, they cheered in unison and applauded.

2. celebrate the new year with spring festival couplets.

In the old days, there was a saying that "Chinese New Year is like customs clearance". One year on New Year's Eve, a poor long-term worker was afraid of being entangled by his creditors, so he posted a pair of Spring Festival couplets at home early in the morning:

No rice, no noodles, no oil, no salt, no sauce and no vinegar, so poor, which boy dares to collect debts?

Pen and ink, chess, calligraphy and painting are all useless. Why should I worry about not paying back the money?

Another scholar wrote Spring Festival couplets on the door for a stable year as follows:

It is the gentleman who allows me to celebrate the New Year; It's the little people who ask us for debts.

This pair of couplets is also equipped with a cross section of "looking at the knife". The word "see the knife" is well used. If you are desperate, you can either kill yourself or kill someone. According to the old practice, once the Spring Festival couplets are posted, debt collectors can no longer ask for debts, but can only push them to the next year.

3. Two strange Spring Festival couplets

For thousands of years, people have always written Spring Festival couplets with auspicious words and prayers. But there are also strange Spring Festival couplets with the opposite content.

In the Qing Dynasty, there was an old Chinese doctor named Fan in Ningbo, who wrote two pairs of strange Spring Festival couplets. There is a pair posted on my front door, which reads: May people be healthy forever, why not be poor for one person?

The other posted on his bedroom door, saying, Why will I never get old? It's about inviting people to get sick.

This old doctor of traditional Chinese medicine, on the occasion of resigning the old and welcoming the new, does not seek his wealth and health, but is abnormal in feelings and customs, and sincerely wishes others "health and integrity", which is admirable.

4, skillfully write Spring Festival couplets to "discuss" new year's goods

In the Ming Dynasty, there was a butcher named Xu Ying in Fuzhou. People call him Wu Xu because he ranks fifth. His house was as poor as a church mouse, and everyone died when the wall fell. It was too cold to describe. But he is very literary and won the praise of the village.

On New Year's Eve, there is no rice at home for the New Year. Facing the poor life, Xu Ying sent out a feeling and wrote a wonderful couplet, which was posted on the door early in the morning. That couplet is: the mouse disappeared because of food; Dogs sleep boldly for the poor.

After the Spring Festival couplets were posted, people talked a lot. Compassionate people took out some food prepared for the Spring Festival at home and gave it to Xu Ying. This year, Xu Ying had a good year.

5, 99 pairs of Spring Festival couplets

Our country has the custom of counting nine. From the solstice of winter, every nine days, a "nine" is counted, and it is 8 1 day, which is called 99. At that time, it was 99 cold and spring was blooming. A farmer wrote a pair of "nine-style" couplets:

The autumn screen fence trees in the old city are withered and brilliant; In spring, the courtyard is surrounded by green grass.

The upper and lower couplets are nine words, each with nine strokes. Write this couplet in hollow words, and fill in the next couplet every day, and the whole couplet will be completed, that is, 8 1 day. The "Nine" has been completed, and it is time for a hundred flowers to bloom and spring to shine.
