Jiao Hong's honor

Zhu Yuanzhang gave Jiao Hong's great-grandfather a name.

At the end of Yuan Dynasty, the fire of peasant uprising reached Qilu. Jiao Hong's great-great-grandfather, Jiao Shuo, left the land where he grew up in Huaya, Guanlan Township, Rizhao County, and joined the army of Zhu Yuanzhang, the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty. He fought bravely. In the Northern Expedition with General Xu Da, he fought the Yuan Army in Baigou River (now Hebei Province), and the Ming Army won a great victory. Jiao Shuo made a great contribution in this battle. He was incorporated into Zhu Yuanzhang's pro-army and stationed in Nanjing, Gyeonggi, and was awarded the military post of Wei Qianhu, a hereditary flag bearer. Since then, I have settled in Jiangnan.

In the army, Jiao Shuo overcame the difficulties of low cultural foundation, studied hard and studied the art of war, which was discovered by Zhu Yuanzhang who came to inspect the army.

Zhu Yuanzhang asked Jiao Shuo's name, ancestral home, family background and meritorious military service, and then said, "Let me change your name."

Ming Taizu gave Jiao Shuo a new name: Jiao Yong.

"Courage" means making meritorious deeds, rewarding and remembering the meritorious deeds, and encouraging people not to be lazy and eager to learn.

This is indeed a great honor for a middle-and lower-level guard officer, and it is also an honor worthy of being remembered forever in the history of Jiao family.

Hui Zhou, a writer in the Ming Dynasty, recorded in "Trivia of Jinling": "The name change of Taizu and the recent minister is different codes. The imperial system of Fengtianmen, known as the standard bearer Wei Jiaoshuo, is even more unique. This is the first time in the book of standard-bearer Wei Huang. Jiao Shuo is the ancestor of Mr. Taishi Lianyuan.

It is precisely because Jiao Hong's great-grandfather was originally from Rizhao, and his great-grandfather was from Nanjing. When he called his hometown Guan, he had another name of his own, "Langya". The spring of Wanli 17 (1589) was the year of national examination in Ming Shenzong. Jiao Hong rushed to Beijing to take the exam. After palace examination came down, he was hand-picked as the top scholar by Emperor Wanli, becoming the 72nd top scholar in 252 years since the Ming Dynasty. Other scholars on the list include Tao Wangling, Zhu Shilu (writer and calligrapher), Ma (suggestion), (history of the Ministry of War), Dong Qichang (calligrapher) and Feng Congwu (history of the Ministry of War), all of whom are very famous.

The good news is that my hometown, Shangyuan County, Jinling, and my ancestral home, Rizhao County, Shandong Province, are all extremely honored by the emergence of such a new champion. According to the old practice, each county allocated special funds to build a memorial archway for him.

At that time, there was famine in Jiangnan and Shandong, and the victims were displaced. When Jiao Hong got the news that the two places were preparing to build their own memorial archways, he immediately wrote to the county magistrates of the two places to dissuade them, and suggested that the money for building memorial archways should be used as a disaster relief fund to help local victims.

Jiao Hong wrote in the letter:

"The first two books, with the meaning of mourning. Duke Zhou built a parody. Although he resigned from his post, he still disturbed my husband's party, and others could not talk about it. Although the servant is greedy, he can't benefit the villagers. How can he be tired of the villagers? This is not a challenge; Coupled with the local drought and famine, a person has one gold to live, and it is useless to spend it, so he is not worthy of being two; The ancients were immortal and had their place. Servants can hardly build them. In the future, they may be able to show their beauty to each other for a while, and dare to cook to annoy the people. This doesn't deserve to be three. Fortunately, this is a word that must be said. Even if the work is promoted, it is required to be dismissed. " (See Jiao Hong's Lianyuan Collection, Volume XIII)

Jiao Hong resolutely resigned from two places in Zhuangyuan Square.

In the face of hometown officials delaying the perfunctory work of the competent government under the pretext of imperial disaster relief, Jiao Hong tried to appeal to the agricultural officials, and finally won a sum of 5,000 taels of silver for Sang Zi.

As for Rizhao in his hometown, he expressed regret that he became attached to his hometown and was isolated from Qian Shan (see page 97 of Rizhao County Records in the 11th year of Kangxi, page 8 14 of Rizhao City Records).

At the request of Jiao Hong, Rizhao County, my hometown, used part of Zhuangyuanfang Silver for disaster relief, and the other part for Jiao Hong to repair ancestral forests, build forest protection flower walls, purchase sacrificial land, and also offer sacrifices to poor brothers in the same family.

In the southeast of Dahuayan Village, there is a primitive Huayan Temple across a river.

It is said that Huayan Temple was built in Tang Dynasty, about 1380 years ago.

In the ancient temple, there is an ancient ginkgo tree planted in the Tang Dynasty. The DBH of ancient trees is now 2. 15m, with a height of 6m under branches and a crown of 22m× 28m. According to the age and DBH, it is the second largest ancient ginkgo tree in Rizhao, next to the ginkgo tree in Ding Lin Temple, Fulaishan, Juxian.

Facing the present situation, I can't imagine the appearance of this ancient temple. I can only look for the shadow of that ancient temple from the poems and historical materials left by Jiao Hong more than 400 years ago.

Wanli of the Ming Dynasty was 17 (1589). After winning the highest prize in Jiao Hong, he worked as an editor in imperial academy.

During the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (18), Jiao Hong's "probation period" ended and he was allowed to go home to visit relatives.

On the way from Beijing to Nanjing, the first thing he has to do is to go back to his hometown Rizhao to worship his ancestors (Shangxiling).

When he lived in another country for a long time and set foot on his hometown, facing Dahua Cliff Village, Jiao Hong, the champion who returned from ancestor worship, was very excited.

He walked on the land of his hometown, strolled under Huayan Temple and Tang Hangshu, and filled in a five-character poem, Huayan Temple:

"When I went to Huayan Temple, I looked back and it was purple."

Jiao Hong looked back and saw the land where his ancestors were born for generations and the place where they were buried forever.

The image of Zhou Lang, a high-spirited, handsome and ambitious Three Kingdoms, and his infinite attachment to his hometown in his mother's arms are vividly on the paper. As he said in the book with Rizhao people, he attributed all his achievements to the accumulated virtues of his ancestors, the supervision of his parents and the good feng shui in his hometown. ...

Facing the beautiful natural environment with beautiful scenery and flowers, the new champion expressed his sincere love for sunshine in his hometown!

In Huayan Temple, he continued to write: The depth is close to the ravine, and the sudden place blocks the night. Jiao Hong's Contribution to Rizhao Culture

In the eighteenth year of Wanli (1590), Rizhao County was presided over by Du Yi 'an, the magistrate of a county, and compiled the first Rizhao County Annals.

For more than 400 years, Rizhao calendar was destroyed by soldiers, and the first county annals have not been lost so far. Fortunately, the preface written by Jiao Hong for this county chronicle was preserved in the Kangxi edition and Guangxu edition of Rizhao County Chronicle compiled in the Qing Dynasty.

Jiao Hong is very concerned about the education in his hometown.

Since winning the highest prize, Jiao Hong has kept close contact with his hometown. In addition to helping my hometown materially, I have devoted a lot of effort to my hometown education.

The chapter "Jiao Hong in Xiang County" was recorded in Rizhao County Annals in Qing Dynasty;

"Gong Du Weisang, a distant flower cliff clan cronies, city officials asked, there are many tourists coming and going. Ann and Li studied the scriptures for the longest time, and they used Deng's brother to win the power of the public. The rest are detailed. " (See page 39 of Rizhao County Records, Kangxi Edition)

There were 9 Jinshi in Rizhao County in Ming Dynasty, including Jiao Hong. Among them, there are 2 students from Jiao Hong: An Zhong, a native of Anjialing in two towns today, who was a scholar in the thirty-fifth year of Wanli (1607); Lee Beon, born in Houmazhuang, was a scholar in the forty-first year of Wanli (16 13).

In Rizhao County Records, two articles by Jiao Hong about recording and discussing the development of Rizhao education are preserved.

One is "Learning about Rebuilding Temples in Rizhao County". He comprehensively recorded the development of Confucianism in Rizhao County, especially in the late Ming Dynasty, and described the prospect of vigorously setting up Rizhao education and promoting the development of Rizhao cultural undertakings. He hopes that one day, "I will return to my hometown" and see the prosperity and development of Rizhao culture.

The other is "Rizhao County Show Respect Pavilion". Written in the forty-fourth year of Wanli (16 16). This was written by Jiao Hong at the request of Rizhao students Shen Quan and Mou Guohua in his later years. He praised Li Wenxing, Chen Rujin and other enlightened county decrees in the Ming Dynasty, which led the people of Rizhao, set up education, educated the people, resisted the Japanese pirates, and recorded the development of Rizhao culture by repairing the educational facilities such as Jingge and talking about famous halls. At the same time, he pointed out the impetuousness and bad habits of Rizhao culture development from a strategic perspective.

Jiao Hong's "New Temple of Fire", written in the thirty-sixth year of Wanli (1608), on the one hand records the historical facts of serious sunshine fire and heavy losses in that year. On the other hand, he praised a series of good deeds of Monnie's good friend and lofty ideals who applied for repairing temples and roads and saving the people from fire and water. Between the lines, it is a praise and advocacy for the social fashion of doing good. Due to the loss of Rizhao County Records in Ming Dynasty, it has become a rare historical material for people to understand the customs, climate and value orientation of Ming Dynasty. Suggestions on the development of the hometown of champions

1, the remains of the hometown of the champion are listed as municipal cultural relics protection units, and strive to be listed as cultural relics protection units in the whole province and even the whole country in the future.

Hire relevant experts to combine tourism planning with life production and make overall planning, so that forests, temples, shrines, trees, monuments and roads can form different functional areas and form a complete cultural relics system.

2. Build Rizhao's first cultural memorial integrating Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism and the West. First, the restoration of Huayan Temple, a Buddhist relic; The second is to build a wax museum of ancient Confucian education in Rizhao in Huayan Temple to reproduce the ancient educational characteristics and customs of Rizhao; The third is to build an exhibition hall for East and West achievements. Prepare exhibition halls for calligraphy and painting, such as Jiao Hong's famous students, Xu Guangqi's pioneering achievements exhibition of western learning, the achievements exhibition of scientific exchanges between the East and the West in Ming and Qing Dynasties, Rizhao's small school art (Xiao Jiucheng) and Xingpai art (Xing Shaolan, Taicang, Jiangsu); Fourthly, the restoration of Huilongguan Taoist Temple in West Lake will be included in the planning.

3. Construction of Jiao Hong Memorial Hall. Show his life and achievements (including ancestors); Welcome to take the loess of Jiao Hong's hometown and build Champion Tomb behind the ancestral grave. Create a veritable "champion forest"; Design and build a bust of white marble or granite in Jiao Hong. The school is run by social forces, with reference to the construction mode of Wen Tianxiang Memorial Hall in Beijing, and it is built by the society and the descendants at home and abroad.

4. Establish a showroom for Jiao Hong's works. Jiao Hong's works scattered in Beijing National Library, Nanjing, Shanghai, Jinan, Taiwan Province, Japan, South Korea and other overseas countries were exhibited in Rizhao.

5. Edit Jiao Hong, the first literary annals in Shandong. And strive to be selected for the magazine "A Hundred Schools of Thought Contend". After the research of Confucius, Mencius, Wang Xizhi, Yan Zhenqing, Liu Xie, Pu Songling, Qi Jiguang, Zheng Xuan and others, he became an outstanding figure in Shandong.

6. Adapting Jiao Hong's life into a TV series in due course. Market-oriented operation invites domestic artists to reproduce Jiao Hong's thoughts and achievements in his life.
