Jian Huang: Wrist.

Wrist has three functions: up and down, left and right, and rotation.

The wrist moves up and down, and the center position is flat, that is, the wrist is flat. When the wrist is pressed down, the palm is usually called the vertical palm. If you are sitting and writing, or standing but the distance between words is very close, the wrist is up and the palm is forward, it is called vertical palm. Vertical palm can make it easier to keep the brush straight.

It should be noted that the lines on the back of the hand are still slightly inclined when the palm is upright. If the vertical palm is too straight, it will appear cramped. And will hold the pen very close to the palm, so that the palm is solid.

If you are standing, your desk is low and your writing position is far away, then your arms can be stretched forward and your wrists can be flat. Below the palm of your hand, also called flat wrist.

Wrist left and right, this is the most important action in writing, also called wrist shaking.

Wrist shaking has three basic positions, namely, left, middle and right, and the center position is middle and front. After you shake your wrist, you must return to the front position.

Wrist rotation, used when writing arcs. Wrist rotation has both positive and negative directions.

One wrist is called a round trip. Because when you turn left or right, the brush grip is upside down. Go back to the middle and be vertical again.

In calligraphy, wrist movements are always left and right, or right and left. There will be no left after left, right after right.

When the nib reaches the joint, twist the nib immediately.

Our hands are on the table, and the left, middle and right of our wrists are like this. In this way, there is a slight deviation between the left, middle and right of the wrist and the left, middle and right of the line. In other words, if you write a vertical line along the "middle" of your wrist, the yellow one is in the middle, and the result will be inclined to the lower right. The way to correct it is to turn your wrist to the left and write down along the "middle" of the line. Write it down like this, it is vertical, and get the "middle" of the line. So I said, when writing vertically, your wrist should be left. Here, I want to talk about the "left" of the vertical pen. Because the pen is right, the wrist of the pen should be twisted to the left. Note that I am talking about the wrist, and I emphasize that the wrist should be left.

The wrist has three positions: left, middle and right. When you write the "middle" of the line with the "middle" of your wrist, the tail of the pen tube is actually on the right. The pen tip is on the left, so pulling will actually cause tilt. So what should we do? As long as your wrist is left, write it down like this, and you are the center.
