Located in the northeast of Guizhou Province, in the hinterland of Wuling Mountain, it is adjacent to Huaihua City, Hunan Province in the east and Chongqing City in the north. It is high in the northwest and low in the southeast, and the whole territory is mainly mountainous. Tongren city has complex terrain and obvious three-dimensional distribution characteristics of climate. Most areas belong to subtropical monsoon humid climate zone. In spring, the temperature is changeable and there is more rain. It is hot in summer, with plenty of sunshine and severe drought in summer; It is cooler in autumn and rainy. In winter, the temperature is low, the sunshine is scarce, the rain is scarce, the frost period is short, the east and west are long, and the season is long. The annual average temperature 15c- 17c and the annual average rainfall1100-1300mm. Generally, the wind speed is relatively small, and the maximum annual average wind speed is 2.3m/s, and the maximum average wind speed appears in March and July. The average wind speed is the smallest in 10 and 12 months.
Tongren is the hometown of calligraphy. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, six calligraphers emerged: Zhou Mian, Zhou, Wang Daoxing, Pan, Yan and Yan Shizhu.
