Loushanguan, also known as Taipingguan, is located at the junction of Zunyi and Tongzi counties, and it is an important pass on the main roads of Sichuan and Guizhou. Formerly known as Lou Guan, later called Taiping Guan. The title originated from the ancient name of Loushanguan. It is the main peak of Dalou Mountain Range, with an altitude of 1.576 meters, 50 kilometers south of Zunyi City, at the junction of Zunyi and Tongzi counties, north of Bashu, and south of Guizhou and Guangxi. It is the throat of northern Guizhou and a battleground for military strategists.
It was called natural barrier in ancient times. Close Qianfeng Wan Ren, where the peaks are green and the cliffs stand tall. If the axe is like a halberd, it will stab the sky, and the Sichuan-Guizhou Highway will hover over it. According to "Ming History", during the Wanli period, Liu, the chief soldier, and Yang Chaodong, the toast of Bozhou, fought fiercely here. Known as the first dangerous place in northern Guizhou, it has the reputation of "one person defends it and ten thousand people can't force it".
1985, in order to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Zunyi Conference, Zunyi County Government made a large-scale sculpture "Loushanguan" on the rocks in the northeast of Loushanguan. The word "Loushanguan" was inscribed by Shu Tong, a famous calligrapher in China. The brushwork is vigorous and powerful, engraved in red, which is particularly eye-catching among the pine trees in Xiongguan.
