Cuihu Reservoir, formerly known as Xiangshuitan Reservoir, is located at the junction of huayuan town, Beicheng and Shuang Yan Township in Yuechi County. The dam is located in huayuan town, and the Cuihu Management Committee is established, which is directly under the jurisdiction of the county government. Xiangshuitan Reservoir started construction in 1959, and the dam was completed in August 1960, with a storage capacity of nearly 1.7 million cubic meters. The water area of Xiangshuitan Reservoir is about 6.5438+0.7 million square meters, and the catchment area of Cuihu Lake is 48.70 square kilometers. The maximum dam height is 23 meters, the crest elevation is 398.30 meters, the crest elevation is 392 meters, the normal water level is 395.50 meters, the flood control limit water level is 394.50 meters in the main flood season, 395.50 meters in the initial flood season, and the check flood level is 396.67 meters. The normal storage capacity is 6.5438+0.69 million cubic meters, and the maximum storage capacity is 20.48 million cubic meters. The dam of the reservoir has protected about 200,000 people and 3,470 hectares of cultivated land.
From the east gate of Yuechi County, drive 1 1 km to Cuihu. 1983, the county party committee and government built Xiangshuitan Reservoir into a tourist attraction, and named it "Cuihu" because of its beautiful scenery and lovely green. The word "Cuihu" was inscribed by Mr. Li Banli, a famous calligrapher. Cuihu Lake is the second largest lake in Yuechi County with the fourth largest storage capacity. There are many inlets in the lake area, and the lakeshore is rich in vegetation, with three islands. Because of its beautiful scenery, it is called the first scenic lake in northeast Sichuan.
