Introduction to the scenic spots of Wenying Park in Taiyuan

Wenying Park is the oldest park in Taiyuan with a history of 600 years. Located at Haizi side of Taiyuan city center, adjacent to Wuyi Square in Taiyuan city center, with an area of 1 1.9 million square meters, of which Huaying Lake covers an area of 39,600 square meters. It is not only a good place for residents from other provinces to relax, but also a cultural garden for ordinary people to taste history. Because of its long history, the park has changed its name several times, from Haiziyan in the Ming Dynasty to People's Park after the founding of the People's Republic of China. After five centuries and three dynasties of Ming, Qing and Republic of China, it was officially called Wenying Park after the Revolution of 1911. 1928 changed to "Zhongshan Park". 1937 was renamed as "Xinmin Park". 1945 was renamed "People's Park" and 1982 was renamed "Children's Park" after liberation. At the end of 2009, the Children's Park was officially renamed as "Wenying Park" and its original name was restored. The park has rich cultural connotations, numerous cultural relics and historical allusions. There are Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall (Ye Quanlou), Revolutionary Martyrs Monument, Glass Pagoda, Champion Bridge, Chongde Railway, the former site of Provincial No.1 Middle School, and the only wooden structure building in China, such as the Swastika Building, which are mostly provincial and municipal key cultural relics protection units. The change of Wenying Lake can be regarded as the epitome and witness of the change of Taiyuan.

Strolling through the park, you can see brilliant history and cultural atmosphere everywhere; Walking through the antique wanzi building, it seems to smell the fragrance of books and ink; Standing in front of the solemn Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, I seem to have heard Mr. Sun Yat-sen's impassioned speech on the stage preaching the Three People's Principles and encouraging industry to save the country. Stepping on the Champion Bridge in Bai Yushi, the scene of the Qing Dynasty scholars rushing to catch the exam emerged; Standing in front of the solemn memorial hall of Taiyuan Branch, proletarian revolutionaries frequently flashed for the establishment of Shanxi Party organizations ... All these historical relics were built around Wenying Lake, so the park was approved as a provincial-level cultural relics protection unit and called "Wenying Lake" the former site of the Xinhai Revolution.
