Subsequently, Yuan Weimin stepped down from the position of head coach of China women's volleyball team and entered the official career, successively serving as president of China Football Association, vice-president of Chinese Olympic Committee, president of Asian Volleyball Federation, director of State Sports General Administration and president of Chinese Olympic Committee.
