A few days ago, Wubian Temple in Taigu County gained another sight: a peace bell weighing more than 1,250 kilograms was placed in the temple.
Wubian Temple is a national key cultural relic protection unit with a history of more than 1,700 years. The white pagoda in the temple is one of the eight white pagodas in my country. The Ping An Bell is 1.7 meters high, 1.3 meters in diameter, and weighs more than 1,250 kilograms. It is currently the largest Ping An Bell in the hometown of Shanxi merchants.
The existing white pagoda was built in the fifth year of Yuanyou (1090) in the Northern Song Dynasty when the Wubian Temple was continued to be built. It is actually a physical example of the transition form from the hollow pagoda of the Tang Dynasty to the solid pagoda of the Song Dynasty. On the east and west sides of the temple, there are also stele corridors, wing rooms, scripture collection buildings, side halls, Zen courtyards, etc. Nowadays, the palace has been turned into a showroom, displaying Zhao Changxie's calligraphy art, ancient woodware, embroidery and other handicrafts. The palace is lush with flowers and freshly painted, making it a major tourist attraction in Taigu County.
