Li Liangui is one of the few folk warriors today. He has a specialty, and shrinking bones is one of his specialties. Unfortunately, his specialty has not been imitated by others. The torrent of history will always drown something, and the disappearance of a skill will always bring people regret and thinking.
Master's character
Li Liangui, a master who grew up in Beijing, is now 70 years old. When I was a child, my family was poor and I was sent to Zeng Yunlong, a famous artist in Beijing Old Tianqiao, to learn art to make a living.
Li Liangui followed the master to practice the Dharma Yijin Sutra, which was also left by Chen Wenbin, a strongman in Li Liangui.
Since he embarked on the road of learning martial arts, Li Liangui has been training hard day after day with amazing perseverance, and finally he has developed a stunt.
Time flies, those ups and downs are seamless, and people walk past them defenseless. People never know what kind of times they will encounter.
In Li Liangui's childhood and adolescence, if he had a stunt that could be used as a street performer, he could eat and wear warm clothes through street performances. However, the society is constantly changing, and the era of street performers is fading away. Finally, he is pushed to the edge of society. Li Liangui had to make a living by other crafts.
But even though he didn't take martial arts as his official job, Li Liangui never gave up practicing martial arts. Decades of martial arts career finally made him grow into a real master.
In a blink of an eye, Li Liangui has been practicing martial arts for more than 60 years. He has never been married and has no children. Once upon a time, he lived in the yard of an alley and practiced martial arts in the open space every day. Now, he lives in an ordinary building, curled up in a reinforced concrete city, but what remains unchanged is his tranquility and profound heart.
Like previous martial artists, Li Liangui had no pursuit of material things.
The building where he lives is located on the edge of Beijing. It's old and outdated. There are no valuables in the house. A training blanket in the living room, a round steel ring for training and a two-meter-long crutch are all his treasures.
Besides, there are only a few simple chairs and a dining table in the living room, and the bedroom is also very simple. There are only a few electrical appliances in the whole house.
For many years, Li Liangui insisted on getting up at 5: 30 every morning, practicing until 10: 00, and then eating the first meal of the day. What he eats is close to vegetarian food, mostly steamed bread, rice porridge, vegetables, radishes and tofu. He only eats two meals a day, takes a nap for half an hour at noon, and then continues to practice until six o'clock in the evening.
In the evening, Li Liangui occasionally practices calligraphy, but he doesn't use paper and pen. He can practice writing on the ground with anything dipped in water, which makes him a character. Sometimes he goes downstairs for a walk, because he is afraid of being noticed, so he dare not practice.
Master Li Liangui's kung fu is not a myth. He can shrink his body to the size of a child, or he can put his body through an iron ring with a diameter of 20 cm, pulling and squeezing it, just like Transformers.
When Li Liangui is old, he is still very strong. With a shaved head and a white beard, he looks like a real master. He often wears old sweatpants and walks very neatly, quickly and straightly.
The Wulin master who just disappeared into the city without seeking fame and fortune is a hermit in modern society. In their eyes, the secular world is just a passing sight, and the past is even more seamless and self-biased. Although people like Li Liangui are in the world of mortals, they have really accomplished nothing and lived a life that we may not reach. This kind of life is not understood, but it contains true character.
Lack of qualified/valuable successors
Although Li Liangui kept a low profile on weekdays, he always had a wish, that is, to pass on his Juexue. Although he is still hale and hearty, he knows that he is old, and I'm afraid his days in the world are numbered. He wants to see his martial arts skills passed down.
To this end, Li Liangui has been running around in recent years, appearing on many TV programs and even performing on the stage, just to let more people know the unique skill of shrinking bones and show the world that this is not a lie. The audience was surprised to see that an old man with a long white beard could shrink his body like a child and be as elegant as Youlong.
Li Liangui intends to accept an apprentice, but this is not an easy task, because people who practice martial arts should also pay attention to character and martial arts, and more importantly, they should be able to find suitable candidates.
Li Liangui is not confident. He said, "Who wants their children to learn this now? Young people nowadays don't like it either. They can't learn this. Too bitter. "
But he took the martial arts of shrinking bones as his lifelong career. Without it, his life would be meaningless. Therefore, even though he knew that there would be no heir to a great extent, Li Liangui did not give up looking for an invisible heir.
On Bone Atrophy and China Wushu
Shrinking bones sounds amazing. In martial arts novels, the stunt of helping the protagonist fly over the eaves and get out of trouble. However, it is not so famous in China Kung Fu, and it is not so magical if it is explained by science. The main thing is to dislocate the joints actively, lengthen the tendons, and make the bones stagger and overlap, so the body can be shrunk to an unimaginable size.
This also determines that the difficulty and pain of practice are unimaginable to ordinary people. Practicing bone contraction skills should start from how old you are like Li Liangui, and let the people who help you practice break your joints. When the joint grows out, it will break continuously. In this way, the joints can move freely and practice bone contraction skills, and you have to bear great pain in the process of practice.
And this kind of pain is to be endured day and night, because it takes hard work to practice kung fu well, and few people can persist. Long-term practice of bone contraction will lead to sequela of bone pain.
Wang Baohe, another master who can shrink bones, like Li Liangui, has been practicing this kind of kung fu for more than 60 years. He often says that he sometimes suffers.
In Li Liangui's era, people worked hard to survive, and in order to have the ability to eat, people starved to death without suffering. But in today's society, there are many ways to make a living, and young people don't have to force themselves to practice such skills for their lives.
In the modern society with diversified entertainment, martial arts performances such as shrinking bones are gradually declining, making it difficult to find a place in the entertainment market, and the development situation is worrying. All these factors lead to the loss of bone contraction.
The present situation of bone shrinkage is also a microcosm of China Wushu. Wushu is one of the traditional cultures in China, which once reached its peak and attracted many young people at home and many foreigners.
However, with the accelerated pace of life, the practicality of Chinese Wushu was once questioned, its offensive and defensive value could not be reasonably developed, and its publicity and promotion efforts were not great. Coupled with the boring and long study, China Wushu failed to develop or even declined, which is undoubtedly the loss of traditional culture. China Wushu has a long way to go to inherit and develop.
Some things will disappear, but China Wushu, as a leaf in the cultural context, no one wants to see it if it declines several times. Martial arts spirit should be passed down, or how many Li Liangui are left in the world?
