Dear parents:
First of all, thank you very much for taking the time to attend this parent-teacher conference.
As a teacher, if parents can't cooperate well, then teaching will be very difficult. Due to the particularity of the times, our children's psychological age is seriously inconsistent with their actual age. The obvious feature is that they don't know what to study for. Many times, parents are anxious and teachers are anxious, but children look at us calmly and don't know what we are anxious about.
It should be said that this is a common phenomenon, and I think it is impossible for me to make them really understand what reading is for. Because you have not experienced it yourself, no matter what others say to you, it is empty. Although I can't change their cognition, I try to change their attitude towards learning.
People's hearts are full of flesh. Whoever is kind to them can understand and will be rewarded. It should be said that I am very grateful to the children in my class, especially the girls, because they will think of me from my point of view. Many times, I don't think I am touching them, but they are touching me. As a teacher, it is a great happiness to be distressed by students. And in the children, I feel their concern for me.
There are 35 students in the class, and each child has a different background, so I know how to teach students in accordance with their aptitude in education. Many people always think that only strict teachers can make children read good books, but I think being fierce is only the best policy.
I have always met good teachers, especially two first-year teachers. I still remember that every day after school, Mr. Ma, the head teacher, would take me home, teach me to write, and then let me have dinner together. Just because she thinks my handwriting is not very good, until now, I will insist on practicing calligraphy when I have time. Not because I like to write with a brush, but because I feel that I can't write well. I am really sorry for my teacher Ma. Maybe she does this to many students, but her move has deeply influenced me and made me especially like Chinese. The same is true of my math teacher in high school. My liberal arts is very good, but my math and English are poor. The poor English is because we all don't like English teachers, so everyone is unwilling to study. The poor math is because she is too lazy to do the problem, but she will accompany me to practice math at noon every day, teaching one test paper after another, and never has any complaints. My math has risen from 4 to 1. Later, I couldn't tell exactly why I studied mathematics, but I was so kind that I was sorry I didn't learn it well! Several teachers, in fact, are not much older than us, but they have awakened our numb hearts with their hot pillow, but I still regret it. Why are they stupid enough to learn English well? So I keep telling myself that students can't hate this course because of my personal reasons!
hating doesn't mean liking it, but the biggest motivation for students to learn a course well lies in their heartfelt love. It is necessary to be strict, but you can't treat every student like this. After all, children are children, and their hearts are fragile and can't stand too much blame. This will not only slowly undermine their self-confidence in learning, but also make them have a kind of anti-pressure ability to deal with blame. Simply put, say, scold as you like, I'm used to it anyway. I am most afraid of children in this state, and what do children fear most? The teacher who is very kind to you suddenly ignores you unhappily and treats you like air. Because children are children, they still have a need to be loved, but they feel that they are adults and need to be respected by others.
Our sixth-grade children are not big, but they are not small. Their emotional changes will directly affect their academic performance. This mid-term exam, I was surprised myself. Only four people in the class scored below 85. There are quite a few children. They scored 78 points and 82 points, but they still scored 92 and 88 points. It's not how much the test paper is difficult, but how much the mentality has changed.
I said something to the children before the exam. They all laughed, but I was very uneasy. I wonder if they understood. I said: you are not fighting alone, but for this class. Your scores are very important. So try not to let yourself get below 8, and it's better to get above 85. Of course, the influence of one sentence is not so great. For conscious children, they will always work hard, but for children who are not conscious, they need the teacher's whip to swing behind them. This whip should not be too heavy, nor too frequent. Only when students feel that it is within their acceptable range, will they be dead set. Of course, sometimes, in order for children to read better, we have to take some punishment measures, and sometimes it will be more severe, just to wake up the children and not make the same mistakes again. As teachers, we will have a good sense of proportion, which also requires parents' understanding.
Many parents will tell me, Teacher, be strict, you can call, it doesn't matter. But if the fight is effective and strict, everyone can get into Fuzhong and Peking University. In fact, teaching is a process of fighting with students. The most difficult thing is how to make students listen to you willingly without knowing it.
