Qi Jiazhen is a close disciple of Qi Baishi. Lou Shibai, a famous painter who is nearly 90 years old, recently launched a set of personal paintings. Lou Shibai hopes that when he turns 90 next year, he can hold a retrospective exhibition of these works at the China Art Museum.

Qi, a native, was born in 1940. He loved painting and calligraphy since he was a child and has been studying it tirelessly for more than 60 years. He studied ancient inscriptions, many calligraphy styles of Yan and Zhao, and kept learning from each other's strong points for his own use. He has won many awards in national competitions and won the titles of "100 outstanding contemporary painters in China" and "100 calligraphers in the new century".

His works have been selected into more than 60 anthologies, such as China Calligraphers' Works Collection, China Contemporary Masters of Painting and Calligraphy Festival, National Treasures' Dictionary of Masters of Painting and Calligraphy, China Contemporary Calligraphy Couplet, and the 4th and 5th China Contemporary Masters of Painting and Calligraphy Boutique Auction. His works are presented to foreign friends as national gifts on behalf of the country.

He is currently a member of China Calligraphers Association, honorary chairman of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Institute, lifelong art consultant of Oriental Art Institute, president of Nanjing Yangtze Painting and Calligraphy Institute, curator of Wu Daozi Art Museum and honorary president of Dongpo Painting and Calligraphy Institute. His works are often exhibited in various regions of the country, and he has been selected for many domestic and foreign painting and calligraphy exhibitions, winning gold, silver and bronze prizes, and his works have been collected by domestic Tibetan friends or foreign friends.
