Who does Beili refer to? A brief introduction to Beili

1. Bei Li refers to Li Zhimin. In contemporary cursive script, there is a saying of "Nan Lin and Bei Li", where Nan Lin refers to Lin Sanzhi and Bei Li refers to Li Zhimin. If we say that in the practice of contemporary cursive script, Lin Sanzhi uses Han steles to write cursive scripts, and his cursive scripts are elegant and beautiful, while Li Zhimin uses northern steles to write cursive scripts, and his cursive scripts are vast and beautiful. The two styles are very different, and their strong and soft complement each other, highlighting the "Southern" style. "Lin Beili"'s two-peak game has enriched the form and style of contemporary cursive script.

2. In the calligraphy world of the 20th century, Li Zhimin is a calligrapher with representativeness and academic research value. Compared with other calligraphers, he created a new way of introducing monuments to calligraphy, which filled the gap in the history of calligraphy in the 20th century. Moreover, because of his proficiency in four languages: English, French, German and Russian, he promoted the spread of Chinese calligraphy internationally. In 1988, with the strong recommendation of Mr. Qi Gong and others, Li Zhimin was elected as the first vice president and director of the evaluation committee of the Beijing Calligraphers Association. After taking office, he actively promoted calligraphy exchanges between the Beijing Calligraphy Association and Japan, and held a series of influential activities such as the 1989 Joint Exhibition of Sino-Japanese Calligraphy Art Works at the National Art Museum of China.
