Appreciating Zhao Mengfu's calligraphy, there is always a leisurely mood, just like appreciating an old movie about the past events in the market. Each volume contains inscriptions such as Money, Continued Money, Qian Houchi, Gui Gui, Luo Shenfu, Danba Monument and Qiu Ai Tombstone. It's worth making a pot of tea and sitting down to savor it. The reason is not only rich in artistic connotation, but also directly related to a large number of words in the works. However, one work is an exception, and that is Zhao Mengfu's four-line poem for The Old Man in the Atrium (see photo).
This work is a poem written by Li Ao in the Tang Dynasty: "Refined into a crane shape, thousands of people believe in it. I came to ask if it's all right (a "say"), the clouds are in the sky and the water is in the bottle. " The last title, Ziang is an old book in the atrium, has no date. There are some seals on the page, such as "Zhang Heng's private seal", "Boshan" and "Pan Hou's approval", but the circulation situation is unknown and there is no description. Some critics say that this work is Zhao Mengfu's masterpiece in his later years, and there is no objection. Although the scale of this work is not large, its artistic and ideological connotation is rich enough to make people admire again and again.
